New York Power Authority Senior Clean Energy Solutions (CES) Financial Forecast Analyst II in White Plains, New York
The New York Power Authority’s Commercial Operations Business Unit is comprised of Clean Energy Solutions (CES), Energy Resource Management, Marketing & Product Development, New York Energy Manager (NYEM), eMobility, and Retail Supply. These essential functions all work in unison to maximize benefits to customers across New York State. NYPA’s ability to maximize its generation resources allows for product and service offerings that promote economic development and support strategic initiatives that reduce statewide electricity consumption and carbon emissions while aligning to Climate Leadership Community Protection Act (CLCPA) goals.
Within Commercial Operations, the CES Business Controls organization is responsible for maintaining all financial aspects of energy efficiency projects, NYEM, and eMobility. Additionally, this team is responsible for collaborating with the other areas within Commercial Operations to report, budget, forecast, and analyze the financial state of Commercial Operations as a whole.
NYPA is seeking a Senior CES Financial & Forecast Analyst who is enthusiastic, high energy, and knowledgeable. Strong candidates thrive in a team environment and want to be a part of making New York clean.
Design, implement, and maintain automated forecasting models, including but not limited to the CES Project Financial Lifecycle Forecast (CES PLF), CES/EE Operating Forecast, and other various Commercial Operations forecast models.
Implement forecast modeling changes as needed for increased accuracy and efficiency, as well as changes related to evolving customer and financial market conditions, NYPA financing policies and procedures, and current legislation.
Prepare and analyze Commercial Operations forecasts and schedules used to produce annual Four-Year Budget, Financial Plan, and net income and cash flow projections.
Update, on a monthly and quarterly basis, forecasts and variance analysis for Energy Efficiency programs and other units within Commercial Operations based on actual data and future trends.
Perform various cost/benefit and life-cycle economic analyses of CES programs, customers, and projects and any other special assignments/analyses as directed by senior management.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Proficient knowledge of finance, accounting, economics preferred.
Proficiency with the Energy Efficiency market and programs preferred.
Excellent analytical skills required, including statistical and quantitative analysis and the use of spreadsheets and databases to develop past and future financial trends.
Ability to design and maintain method(s) of extracting data from its original source to another location (i.e., a data repository or data lake) to make that data consumable for a variety of downstream purposes such as applications, visualizations, analytics, forecasting, and other related data science activities required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (MS-Access, Excel, Power Point, Outlook) required.
Knowledge of Tableau, Power BI, and SQL is required. SAP preferred.
Ability to analyze financial, marketing, and operational data in support of recommendations to establish strategic benchmarks and goals required.
Proactive approach to identifying improvement opportunities for efficiency of work processes and computer model systems required.
Education, Experience and Certifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Mathematics, or related discipline required.
Master’s degree preferred.
Minimum 7 years of related analytical business experience with strong understanding of corporate finance.
Government finance preferred.
