New York Power Authority Senior Auditor - Informational Systems in White Plains, New York

Summary

Plan, organize, execute Information Systems Technology Audits NYPA-wide which will include: pre and post implementation reviews, applications, operating systems, database, telecommunications and client server audits. Will also perform audits of internet/intranet infrastructure and networks.

Responsibilites

  • Complete approximately 8-12 Information Systems audits per year.

  • Develop preliminary audit plan and develop risk assessment, audit scope and procedures.

  • Analyzes standards, processes and procedures of IS activities to assess IS controls and compliance with generally accepted IS standards.

  • Execute audit program and procedures.

  • Document all work performed and results via workpapers.

  • Prepare final audit report including recommendations.

  • Participate in all audit entrance/exit interviews.

  • Participate in “integrated” Internal Control Audits when required.

  • Develop (in conjunction with the IS Audit Supervisor) “computer audit assistance techniques” including selection and maintenance of audit software to ensure maximum efficiency and utilization by entire audit staff.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Thoroughly familiar with Information Systems auditing concepts and techniques with ability to apply to specific audit assignments. Good working knowledge of COBIT. Good grasp of electric utility industry. Excellent organization skills. Demonstrate high level of competence in both oral and written communications. Sound analytical abilities along with the ability to recognize audit issues and develop practical solutions. Must plan the entire audit assignment and manage all aspects of the work within established time budget. Will interface with managers on audit findings and engage in negotiations or find best solutions.

Education, Experience and Certifications

  • Bachelors in MIS, Accounting or Finance or equivalent.

  • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) designation.

  • Minimum 5 years of Information Systems Technology audit experience preferable combination of Big 4 and Fortune 500 audit experience. Experience auditing some of the following: SAP, LANs, WANs, Internet/Firewalls, Windows, Network Security and Infrastructure.

  • The level of job complexity is intermediate. Must be able to plan, organize, control and execute large complex audits while maintaining cordial and professional relationships with auditees. Ability to analyze and interpret large volume of data to identify potential issues and develop practical cost effective solutions.

  • A CPA or MBA is preferred.

Physical Requirements

Approximately 20% travel primarily within New York State.
