New York Power Authority Intern - Organizational Development in White Plains, New York

Summary

The Intern - Organizational Development position is ideal for a college or graduate level student with interest in HR/Talent Development (I/O Psychology). Individual will provide support of Organizational Development projects in alignment with Workforce Planning initiative. Individual will also provide administrative support to the Talent Development team as needed.

The duration of this internship is 6 to 12 months.

Responsibilities

Intern will gain an introduction to:

  • Talent Development strategies

  • Organizational Development (OD) project support and execution

  • Working collaboratively in a team environment to meet greater objectives of the organization

Intern will support:

  • Project support for Talent Development initiatives, specifically NYPA's new training curriculum, succession planning, performance management and procurement processes, among others.

  • Assisting with the systems implementation of NYPA's new career development platform.

  • Coordination and communication with internal and external customers associated with the projects (scheduling meetings, setting up classes, maintaining records, drafting communications)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, specifically:

  • Excel,

  • Power Point

  • Outlook

Student should also possess:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task with competing priorities

  • Collaborative and team orientated

  • Customer focused when dealing with vendors and internal clients

Education, Experience and Certifications

Must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program. Students with a focus or major in industrial/organizational psychology preferred.
