Job Description

In support of the Asset Management Strategic Initiative, the primary function of the intern will be to assist with data management/asset information and analytics efforts and to augment the Maximo and Asset Management training development and delivery efforts across NYPA.

  • Work with Data Analytics/Asset Information for Maximo and Asset Health Center

  • Support Operations use of hand-held technology

  • Augment Maximo training efforts across NYPA

  • Upon completion of Maximo training, assist NYPA users with Maximo functionality

Skills, knowledge, and abilities the intern will walk away with at the end of the internship:


Proficiency in EAM system (Maximo) & mobile technology (DataSplice).


An understanding of power generating facilities and transmission power systems. An understanding of data management best practices and asset management processes.


Ability to analyze data and implement improvement actions. Ability to develop information standards and audits

Required Skills

Technical Competencies:

  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Power Point, Word, Project, Sharepoint).

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

Behavioral Competencies:

  • Work effectively in both a team environment and independently with minimal supervision.

  • Communicate effectively with all levels of management.

  • Detail orientated and extremely well-organized.

Required Experience

Pursuing Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, IT, or related field (preferably junior year)
