Eversource Energy Program Manager, Gas Technical Sales in Westwood, Massachusetts

Job Description Summary:

Responsible for providing Engineering-based technical support to commercial and industrial customers, Customer Account Executives, Mid-Account Executives and internal departments. Also responsible for growth of peak and off-peak process load while increasing overall annual energy sales and customer satisfaction. Focus is on load growth from technical gas technologies ie; combined heat & power, fuel cell, natural gas vehicles and complex conversions.

2. Essential Functions:

 Trains Customer Account Executives and Mid-Account Executives on high-efficiency technology equipment features and benefits, potential high-efficiency technology applications, alternative competitive technologies and prospecting, identifying and qualifying sales leads.

 Provides support to Customer Account Executives and Mid-Account Executives and other departments on complex technical, energy rate and policy development/deployment issues.

 Educates customers and architect/design engineers on high efficiency technology equipment’s financial and technical features and benefits.

 Assists customers with the technical applications of energy within their facilities.

 Conducts studies and recommends system enhancements and changes for existing customer systems.

 Aids customers in making the correct energy choice for energy plans being considered at their facilities.

 Develops trade alliances that support department sales goals.

 Presents high efficiency technology applications to key trade industry organizations such as AEE, AFE, ASHRAE and BOMA.

 Provides support to the Company’s Energy Efficiency Department in the roll out of energy efficiency programs.

 Increases peak and off-peak process load growth.

 Achieves department and customer sales goals.

 Develops Customer Account Executive and Mid-Account Executive sales and technical competencies.

 Educates customers and architects/design engineers on high efficiency technology equipment’s financial and technical features and benefits.

 Develops trade ally partnerships in support of department sales goals.

 Participates in the development of the strategic customer segment plan.

Qualifications:

Technical Knowledge/Skill: Requires theoretical and practical, knowledge of methods and principles of mechanical and electrical systems and equipment. Also requires strong interpersonal skills. Ability to organize and assimilate written technical instructions, procedures and documents required as well as the ability to use PC desktop applications (e.g., Microsoft Word and Excel) and mainframe systems.

Education: Requires a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or related discipline. MBA preferred.

Experience: Minimum of eight (8) years related experience.

Licenses & Certifications: Certified Energy Manager (CEM). Professional Engineer (PE) preferred.

6. Working Conditions:

Work is performed primarily in an office environment that requires standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs, writing, typing, and communicating. Job can require visits to customer sites (office environments, electric vaults/rooms/switch yards, outside locations and hard hat areas), which may include driving or using public transportation.

7. Mental Aspects:

Work includes analyzing, consulting, designing, implementing, presenting, leading and coordinating. This role works in an environment that often requires the performance of multiple simultaneous activities, where deadlines need to be met and work is performed under pressure while involving significant business commitments and results.
