Brief Posting Description
The Release Coordinator's role is to own the Release Management lifecycle which includes scheduling, coordinating and the management of releases across all IT products and portfolios. This includes the monitoring of release progress through the entire pipeline, assuring consistent alignment with quality standards at each stage gate and coordinating releases and teams at the portfolio, program, and team levels. The Release Coordinator will also oversee the adherence to deployment windows and release processes by software delivery teams, facilitate the appropriate communication channels among software delivery roles and with stakeholders, and continuously improve release management practices.
NOTE : There is one position available and this position will be filled at either the IT Release Coordinator I (Job grade NB17), IT Release Coordinator II (Job grade NB19) or IT Release Coordinator III (Job grade NB21). This decision will be based on the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate and Tri-State business needs at the time of hire.

IT Release Coordinator III (NB21)
Hiring Salary Range: $81,800-$102,200
IT Release Coordinator II (NB19)
Hiring Salary Range: $ 67,600-$84,500
IT Release Coordinator I (NB17)
Hiring Salary Range: $55,800-$69,800

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategy and Planning
Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to ensure smooth and reliable delivery of software and systems to fulfill business objectives, support business processes, and ensure business continuity.
Provide tools and services to help product management and project teams manage and deploy releases into production.
Conduct research on leading release management practices and tools and technologies landscape to justify recommendations and to support purchasing or optimization efforts.
Acquisition & Deployment
Research and analyze impacts of future releases from enterprise applications and communicate findings to internal IT staff and business stakeholders.
Plan and build the release calendar including the release dates, instance strategy and cycles across all portfolios and create a centralized view of all releases.
Ensure Go-Live activities including the execution of the deployment Plans and checklists are followed.
Coordinate release content and effort based on the service request backlog, pending service requests, third party applications, and various infrastructure system updates.
Produce Deployment, Run Books and Implementation Plans.
Communicate release details and schedules to respective teams and all the key stakeholders as required.
Negotiate, plan and manage all release activities including IT and user sign-off coordination.
Maintains the release schedule for all core services and ensure alignment across key partners and vendors.
Participate in all relevant meetings to discuss release scope and/or roadblocks.
Assist in managing projects and interdependencies to ensure milestone adherence and that the integrity of the release can be measured.
Ensure that a detailed deployment plan has been documented along with a back-out plan in the event anything goes wrong during deployment.
Validate that the product has been correctly packaged before deployment and ensure that all release controls have been satisfied.
Manage risks and issues that may affect release scope and schedule.
Have a stake in and assist with measuring and monitoring progress to ensure application releases are delivered according to plans and expectations.
Conduct release readiness reviews, milestone reviews, and business go/no-go reviews.
Ensure that the organization's release controls are documented and well understood by development teams and support teams.
Work with the Change Control Board and third party service providers to confirm adherence to release management standards.
Work with Quality Assurance Manager to ensure that releases follow appropriate testing standards as they pass through environments.
Use test automation and scripts to build, integrate, and deploy software releases to various platforms.
Maintain the release schedule for all core services and ensure alignment across all application needs and communicate this schedule regularly to the entire organization.
Lead and co-ordinate the go-live activities including the execution of the deployment plans and checklists.
Release the pre-planned communications about the product to all stakeholders.
Maintains a release repository and manages key information such as build and release procedures, dependencies, and notification lists.
Adhere to and demonstrate compliance with appropriate electric utility industry regulatory requirements. Attain knowledge and remain knowledgeable of development in regulations, laws, standards and best practices applicable to the functional area including, but not limited to, Standards of Conduct, Environmental, Employment Law, NERC Reliability Standards and Safety. Must be familiar with, and comply with, all aspects of Corporate Policy C-54, Compliance.

REQUIRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Training:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Engineering or a related study, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Ability:
Proven experience in overseeing the design, packaging, testing, and deployment of software releases on Enterprise cloud applications including Oracle Cloud SaaS and Microsoft 365.
Proven experience with release management, environment management, and portfolio and program management best practices.
Working knowledge of current release and deployment standards, including ITIL Release Management
Excellent software troubleshooting experience
Competence with testing, flowchart and data mapping tools and procedures.
Excellent understanding of the organization's goals and objectives.
Excellent interpersonal skills in areas such as teamwork, facilitation, and negotiation.
Excellent analytical and technical skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent planning and organizational skills.
Five (5) to Eight (8) years or more hands-on design release management and change management experience.

Must be able to demonstrate that he/she can perform all of the essential functions of the position
Willingness to travel as required (Possession of current valid driver's license or ability to obtain)
DESIRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

ITIL v3 or v4 Foundation Certificate preferred
COBIT 5 Certification a plus
