Responsibilities

We are offering an exciting opportunity for the position of Project Coordinator in Public Policy & External Affairs. In this dynamic role, you will offer essential staff and project management support to the Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) & Executive Vice President (EVP) of Public Policy & External Affairs. Responsibilities will include coordinating activities among the Communications, Government Relations, and External Affairs departments, as well as collaborating with other EEI departments when necessary. Additionally, you will play a key role in assisting with activities in the Office of the CSO & EVP and contributing to various tasks within the External Affairs department as needed.

  • Schedule meetings, coordinate travel arrangements, oversee media management, and ensure briefing books and other materials are prepared by EEI staff.

  • Maintain files related to legislative issues, expense reports, lobbying reports, accounting forms and purchase orders.

  • Provide support for purchase orders, work orders, expense accounts, other forms as needed.

  • Serve as liaison between Government Relations, External Affairs, and Communications Department to ensure projects are completed.

  • Track progress and workflow of EEI advocacy projects and communications materials.

  • Assist with projects in the External Affairs department that include legislative and regulatory tracking.

  • Maintain and update stakeholder contact lists as needed.

  • Assist with member-based webinars and advocacy project needs.

  • Coordinate outreach and external organizational obligations including speaking engagements and roundtables.

  • Draft and proofread correspondence and other materials.

  • Assist with planning, coordinating, and execution of the EEI member conferences.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in political science, public policy, or related field

  • Demonstrated understanding of federal, state, and local political landscapes and legislative processes

  • Two or more years of related experience required

  • Two years of Hill experience preferred

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, and Excel

  • Exceptionally skilled at prioritizing work duties

  • Proven ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with diverse stakeholders

  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities

The salary range for this role begins at $65,000. Starting annual salary will be determined on individual qualifications. EEI also offers an annual performance incentive which is prorated for mid-year start dates. This incentive is typically up to 10% of base salary. Office Protocol

This is a hybrid position which requires the incumbent to reside in the District of Columbia metropolitan area and come into the office a minimum of three days each week with two of the mandatory days being Tuesday and Wednesday.
