Edison Electric Institute Human Resources Internship in Washington, District Of Columbia

Overview

The Edison Electric Institute (EEI) is seeking a talented and committed intern to join the Human Resources team this summer. This role provides the opportunity to work with colleagues across all HR functions. The dates of this internship are mid-May through mid-August and requires a commitment of 20-30 hours per week.

EEI is the trade association for all U.S. investor-owned electric companies. Our office is located in the heart of Penn Quarter, on Pennsylvania Avenue between the U.S. Capitol Building and the White House.

This is a paid internship.

  • Graduate Students: $25 per hour

As an HR team, we consult, advise and help managers and employees accomplish their goals, while supporting their individual needs. We provide the full scope of HR services and employment life cycle support to ensure we attract, retain and develop a workforce to meet the current and future needs of our members, the publicly traded energy companies.

This is a great opportunity for a graduate student working towards a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.

  • Assist with the coordination of new hire orientation sessions and learn how to facilitate them.

  • Support talent acquisition by screening resumes and phone screening candidates.

  • Work on a records migration project to digitize records.

  • Provide logistics and coordination support for employee events.

  • Provide additional support to the Human Resources team.

Responsibilities

  • Enrolled in, or having recently completed, a graduate program with an interest in human resources.

  • Accuracy, attention to detail, ability to manage multiple work streams, ability to complete tasks on time, self-motivation.

  • Proficiency with MS Office applications.

  • Excellent administrative and organizational skills.

  • Ability and desire to learn.

Preferences

  • Prior experience working in an office environment.

  • Working knowledge of U.S. labor laws.
