The Enterprise Risk Manager II will comprehend and measure evolving risk and risk moderation strategies as measured within the board approved risk appetite.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Develop educational resources for the sole purpose of educating stakeholders, mechanisms of the enterprise risk management framework, universal risk parameters, risk -specific parameters, and key risk indicators (KRI).
Collaborate with risk owners to comprehend key risk indicators (KRI) that have been planned and applied in order to quantify the variety of current and future risk compared to recognized risk parameters field such as capacity, target, or tolerance linked with the respective risk defined parameters.
Serves as the subject matter expert in developing and maintaining models to evaluate and quantify risks to assess the potential impacts on the organization.
Report on the current assessed level of risk and document recommendations on managing risks. Contribute to risk reporting initiatives such as process improvement and technology efforts to enhance efficiency and/or accuracy of reporting.
Assist in developing and implementing measurement components of the ERM framework.
Help design, build and implement methodologies, metrics, models, reporting dashboards for the analysis, measurement and ongoing monitoring of risk and appetite.
Construct monthly review and quarterly profiles for presentation to the RMC. Produce ad hoc risk reports for senior leadership and board committees, as required.
As the ERM liaison and business resource, work to develop relationships with stakeholder risk owners and necessary colleagues throughout Risk Management vertical. Collaborate with colleagues across WGL to determine risk levels detect within the various stakeholders as well as perform independent risk analyses through the execution of analytical practices.
Utilize existing/generate new complementary measures that back and update key risk indicators (KRI) in order to deliver superior transparency around risk causes and risk motivators.
Qualifications, Skills and Abilities
Bachelor's Degree statistics, math, quantitative analysis, finance, business, engineering or a related field
7+ Years relevant experience in risk management, business intelligence, and/or operational risk – inclusive of 2 years of experience performing an assortment of technical analyses as it relates to root cause determination, anomaly identification, and trending.
Prior enterprise risk management experience working within an energy and/or utility environment
Demonstrated familiarity in facilitating discussions and deployment of key risk indicators.
Demonstrated experience using of Tableau, SAS, SQL or other comparable tool.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and/or Access data management methods.
Intermediate/advanced knowledge with Microsoft Powerpoint.
Current working knowledge of ERM industry trends and best practices.
Demonstrated strong problem solving, analytical, and verbal/written communication skills; ability to compile and analyze data and key metrics; present complex data and risks in a clear and concise format.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in teams. Teamwork is crucial to the success of the ERM and, as such, the Risk Analyst must be comfortable working in a team setting that is motivating and supportive in getting activities completed.
Demonstrated ability to influence and build relationships with peers, key partners, stakeholders, and members of Company Senior Management.
