Edison Electric Institute Energy Supply & Finance Internship (statistical analysis and data analytics) in Washington, District Of Columbia

Overview

The Edison Electric Institute (EEI) is seeking a talented and committed intern to join the Energy Supply and Finance team this summer. This role provides the opportunity to work with the Energy Supply and Business Analytics team to extract and analyze data sets that feed reports of importance to the investment community and energy companies as well as supporting department meetings and member engagement events. The dates of this internship are mid-May through mid-August and requires a commitment of 35 hours per week. Start and end dates are negotiable.

EEI is the trade association for all U.S. investor-owned electric companies. Our office is located in the heart of Penn Quarter, on Pennsylvania Avenue between the U.S. Capitol Building and the White House.

This is a paid internship.

  • College Students: $20 per hour

  • Graduate Students: $25 per hour

The Energy Supply and Finance team is responsible for producing non-financial reports, fulfilling internal and external information requests regarding energy supply data, analytics, technologies, and policy, and providing overall support to industry constituents.

This is a great opportunity for an undergraduate or graduate student with an interest in engineering, finance, economics, business, data analytics, or statistics. A specific major is not required but strength in statistical analysis and data analytics is required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in data compilation, report formatting and proofreading of key non-financial reports.

  • Audit, organize, and refine membership data for pivotal member communities.

  • Support the logistics of member calls and in-person meetings.

  • Conduct member engagement surveys under the guidance of department leadership.

  • Complete assigned research projects.

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in, or having recently completed, an undergraduate or graduate program with an interestin engineering, finance, economics, business, data analytics, or statistics.

  • Strong statistical analysis and data analytics skills is required.

  • Accuracy, attention to detail, ability to manage multiple work streams, ability to complete tasks on time, self-motivation.

  • Proficiency with MS Office applications.

  • Knowledge of Excel functions, macros, and SQL Server Management Studio is a plus but not required.

  • Excellent administrative and organizational skills.

  • Ability and desire to learn.

Preferences

  • Prior experience working in an office environment.

This is a hybrid position which requires the incumbent to reside in the District of Columbia metropolitan area for the duration of the internship and come into the office a minimum of three days each week.
