National Grid is hiring a Senior Enterprise Architect for Domain Group Functions in our Enterprise Architecture Department in Waltham, MA.

Accountable for building a holistic view and roadmap of the company’s technology strategy. Collaborating with both business/functions and technology groups to ensure that the proposed technical solutions align with the company’s overall objectives, the function’s business strategy and prepare the organization for future needs.
Lead the design and definition of architectural initiatives that drive revenue and/or improve efficiency in line with business strategy. Additionally, this role is responsible for a clear forward view roadmap for the enterprise keeping in mind industry specific trends and emerging technologies.
Proficient in influencing and guiding the business and IT leadership as well as external Service Integrator’s/Providers and internal architects in implementation of the strategy, providing guidance and review architecture plans and designs to ensure methodology, best practices and standards are followed and to ensure overall quality of the integration solution.
Proficient at demonstrating the ability to lead and influence across multiple levels of the organization and with internal and external team members.
Oversees and/or supports all governance of Enterprise Architecture principles and framework to assure compliance to the EA strategy and that exceptions are well justified and documented through a formal waiver process. Analyses the impact of technology exceptions and its effect on future IT and enterprise goals.
Documents and approves Domain level standards, guidelines and frameworks
Align IT strategy and planning with the company’s business goals and objectives; Build relationships with business stakeholders and IT Business Partners to gain in-depth knowledge of business strategic plans.
Collaborate with IT Leadership and business/functional leadership to provide recommendations on IT strategy aligned with the overall strategic goals.
Partner with other IT personnel, evaluate existing and emerging technologies for their applicability to business challenges/objectives. Present business cases for evaluation and/or implement prototypes or POC’s (proofs-of-concept) to validate expectations.
Partner with solution architects to provide a scalable, adaptable architectural solution and accountable for solution architecture deliverables on projects.
Develop and document architectural standards, policies and guidelines; own the governance of these to ensure alignment and application of best practices.
Partner with IT Business Partners, program managers, project managers and business analysts in the planning, design, build and implementation of enterprise projects/programs.
Prepare and deliver executive and detailed presentations for end-users of all levels, including executive management.
Lead or review product and service evaluations and/or selections to ensure they align with strategic goals and objectives.
Hands on(Roll up sleeves) andability to document business process models, business capability models and linking core applications and their dispositions to guide roadmaps and program/project work.Promote the use of a shared infrastructure and application roadmap to reduce costs and improve how information flows.
Circulate roadmaps to align business partner and IT priorities.
Supervisory/Interpersonal- Experience Required
In-depth understanding of the perspectives and needs of the customers that the owned architecture(s) support.
Passion for clear communication and the ability to think creatively when solving difficult problems.
Strong interpersonal, written and oral communications skills.
Ability to motivate and direct a diverse group of individuals
Highly self-motivated and directed, with a keen attention to detail.
Expertknowledge of project management including budget & resource management. Work closely with technical managers and project managers to support initiatives and projects as requested.
Facilitate and arbitrate disagreements among technical staff and make decisions where needed.
Review and manage workload and monitor staff performance. Develop career path and training plans for staff.
Keep direct and upper management informed on group activities.
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical experience. Master’s degree in Computer Science preferred.
15+ years of progressive experience performing definition and implementation of enterprise business domain portfolio roadmaps using a leading software and hardware platforms; experience with backend integration to legacy applications and to SaaS.
8-10 Years of experience with modern technical architectures.
5+ years experience managing Domain Architects.
