National Grid IT team is currently seeking an innovative, adaptable, and results-oriented leader to lead and manage Product Planning within our Solutions Engineering team as the Principal Product Manager – DevOps. This role will be responsible for managing the DevOps Engineering product planning processes by collaborating with the Enterprise Architecture, IT Strategy, EPMO, CIO & Engineering teams to deliver business outcomes. As an experienced Product Manager, you will manage a portfolio of IT Foundation investments DevSecOps, Data Ops, ML Ops, and Azure PaaS Services that incorporates digital delivery centric best in class product planning practices.
Act as the voice of the customer in the definition of innovative digital solutions
Provide insights into product, technology, and market trends
Work with Enterprise Architecture (EA) and IT Strategy to gain an understanding of strategic enterprise technology roadmap
Support the IT Strategy and EA setting the long-term vision and strategy for platforms and high value workflows, and communicate this strategy to all the relevant participants and partners.
Support bringing new technology solutions to NG with return-on-investment analysis
Gather and manage product planning feedback through surveys
Monitor and report on product & platform business value KPIs
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to scope, design, concept test and deliver innovative solutions
Own and drive development of business cases and operating plans
Prepare and present product planning communications for executives and stakeholders
Be a valued contributor to evolution of IT Foundations & Tools. Benchmark and incorporate standard/best methodologies.
Supervisory/Interpersonal- Experience Required
Able to influence and manage internal and external stakeholders.
A good track record of interfacing with direct and third-party suppliers delivering services in onshore/offshore model.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science/engineering or in related field; Master's Degree preferred
• 10+ years of professional experience in software technologies
• Understanding of DevOps capabilities and tools, such as, Cloudbees Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Ansible Tower, BitBucket, Sonarqube, Jfrog/Xray Artifactory, Checkmarx, Neoload, Netsparker)
• Understanding of DevSecOps, Data Ops, ML Ops, and Azure PaaS Services
• Thorough knowledge of Agile software delivery models (Kanban, Scrum, SAFe, etc.)
• 2+ years’ experience as a Product Manager in a technology company
• Certified Product Manager
