Job Purpose

This is an important role on the National Grid IT team as part of large Gas Business enablement strategic initiative to digitally enable the Gas Distribution business at National Grid US. In this role, you will be responsible for the overall training delivery strategy, plan and tools partnering with functional peers and solution engineering teams to drive the plan, architecture and process around training delivery for the program, including owning the technical plan for training readiness, training data preparation and implementing self-service training tools and capabilities.

Key Accountabilities

  • This role will consist of being the Technical Product Manager responsible for the strategic roadmap, solution development and delivery of solutions for training delivery as part of the overall program roadmap.

  • This role will work closely with the change management team to anticipate and understand training requirements, own the plan for technical training support, automate training data creation and environment management.

  • The person will also lead efforts to implement tools and technologies related to training automation and self-service training by implementing tools such as Walk-me or Enable-Now.

  • The person will be expected to be familiar with Agile and Scaled Agile methods of software development and deployment.

  • The role reports to the Sr. Director Deployment for the Gas Business Enablement program and is responsible to create strong working relationships and influence across the organization and functional groups to execute the strategy and plan.

  • Will engage with functional team members at executive/technical levels to present strategy/roadmap/feature overview, collect requirements, create/refine strategy and formulate roadmap based on tangible outcomes.

Supervisory/Interpersonal- Experience Required

  • Experience leading complex, diverse projects

  • Multiple large-scale system implementations, preferably utilizing Salesforce, field force management solutions.

  • Prior experience with Utilities or related industries is a plus.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to communicate effectively with both business and technical audiences

  • Ability to balance the long-term (""big picture"") and short-term implications of all decisions

  • Demonstrated customer focus – evaluates decisions through the eyes of the customer; builds strong customer relationships with Stakeholders at all levels of the organization; partners with customers to help shape their future initiatives

  • Will challenge the status quo and advocate for Digital Transformation.

  • Desire and ability to roll up sleeves and dig into technical aspects of the products.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)

  • Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in IT

  • Minimum of 3 additional years of experience in implementing large scale IT programs.
