Job Purpose

The Data Architect will be responsible for leading the development, validation, publishing, and maintenance of logical and physical data models required for complex data initiatives. The role will leverage their knowledge of data modeling best practices along with cross industry data expertise and data modeling tool expertise.

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead the development, validation, publishing, and maintenance of logical and physical data models required for complex data initiatives.

  • Perform detailed analysis of data management requirements across all systems, platforms and applications.

  • Ensure data architecture designs are aligned to the NG principles/standards, and regulatory and business requirements.

  • Leverage knowledge of data modeling best practices along with cross industry data expertise and data modeling tool expertise.

  • Coordinate with clients, data users and key stakeholders and develop and achieve various long-term objectives for data architecture.

  • Map data sources and targets for data movement and analyze it to ensure appropriate integrity and quality of all data.

  • Prepare documents for data architecture and maintain knowledge base for the data structure.

  • Identify current paint points that need to be addressed as part of the new data architecture and provide solutions for the same.

  • Create various architecture blueprints and work with the development team to deliver the vision.

Supervisory/Interpersonal- Experience Required

  • Will also be involved in working closely with the various IT teams, enterprise architecture team, Office of Information Security, Data Management team, to ensure that the architected solution meets the needs of all the stakeholders, from a functionality perspective and IT solution engineering perspective.

  • Create various architecture blueprints and work with the development team to deliver the vision.

  • Will also make presentation (using PowerPoint, vision or any other tool) to various stakeholders and management on a need basis or as and when requested on data architecture.

  • Interface with the business client to understand business needs and requirements, and to help develop and maintain the client relationship on a need basis.

  • Important to have good stakeholder management and influencing skills at colleagues, partners / vendors & project sponsors.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Big Data Administration, Systems Administration or in the related field

  • Extensive experience as a Data Architect/Data Modeler.

  • Extensive Data Modelling experience with 3NF, Star Schema, Kimball, Data Vault modelling, etc.

  • Demonstrable experience in developing, validating, publishing, maintaining Logical & Physical data models

  • Demonstrable experience using data modeling tools - e.g., ErWin or ERStudio

  • Hands-on working experience with modern cloud data tools. (Preferably Azure).

  • Evaluate existing data models and physical databases for variances and discrepancies

  • Experience with architecting and implementing data platforms.

  • Experience with managing meta data for data models

  • Demonstrable experience in developing, publishing, and maintaining all documentation for data models

  • Experience having worked in an Enterprise Data Warehouse project
