New Jersey Resources is seeking a Technical Support Specialist to work directly with internal customers to field, diagnose and resolve technical issues. Provide support for the upkeep and maintenance of all hardware, software, peripherals, telephony and radio systems.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Field second level technical help desk requests in a timely manner; communicate regularly with the users on the status of the request

  • Maintain, analyze, troubleshoot and repair computer systems; install, repair or replace components in laptops, desktops, printers and other peripherals

  • Assist in maintaining the telephony network for all locations, include NJR’s remote sites

  • Assist in maintaining all mobile devices including but not limited to iPhones, Blackberries, Androids and radios

  • Assist in maintaining the mobile workforce

  • Work with third party vendors when needed to assist with repairs to our systems

  • Assist with end user training

  • Keep up-to-date with the latest industry trends, technologies and integrates where feasible

  • Update the help desk ticketing system with the resolution to problems found

  • Keep supervisor advised of activities

    Position Specifications:

  • Associate’s degree in computer science or technical certification required; Bachelor's degree is preferred

  • At least three years of experience working in a second level desktop support position

  • Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) in related fields

  • Experience working with Avaya Telephony Systems a plus

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills; ability to articulate issues and solutions effectively, both verbally and written

  • Provide a high level of service in a professional manner, ability to maintain confidentiality and creative problem solving skills

  • Ability to multitask, analyze and excellent attention to detail

  • Good working knowledge of Windows Windows 7 and Windows 10 as well as related Office applications; knowledge of TCP/IP, LAN/WAN and wireless infrastructures

  • Familiar with building, configuring and troubleshooting PC hardware components; complex problem-solving and decision-making skills

  • Available for non-traditional, off hours support when needed; rotating on-call for off hours support required

  • Valid driver's license is required, as some travel is required based on the needs of the business

  • Occasional climbing and/or balancing, stooping, kneeling or crouching, crawling and/or reaching.
