New Jersey Resources is seeking a BI Developer to develop and deliver strategic cloud solutions and implementation in Azure, moving on prem SQL Server DB to Cloud and enable associated technologies. Effectively anchor and develop technical solution with cross functional teams.

Major Responsibilities

• Analyze all integrated systems (such as ERP, Agent Desktop, Billing, CRM, Work & Asset Management) that will be impacted by the implementation and begin to plan for required retrofit and conversion

• Design Azure Data warehouse using Azure Data Factory

• Implement copy activity, Custom Azure Data Factory Pipeline Activities for On-cloud ETL processing

• Recreate existing application logic and functionality in the Azure Data Lake, ADF, SQL Database and SQL Datawarehouse environment

• Extract and review data from heterogeneous sources like (Excel, CSV, Oracle, flat file, Text Format Data) using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) from OLTP to OLAP

• Migration of on-premise data (SQL Server) to Azure Data Lake Store (ADLS) using ADF V1/V2

• Experience managing Azure Data Lakes (ADLS) and Data Lake Analytics and an understanding of how to integrate with other Azure Services

• Engage with business users to gather requirements, design visualizations and provide training to use

self-service BI tools

• Work in mixed role DevOps: Azure Architect/System Engineering, network operations and data engineering

• Utilize automation tool such as Terraform, Ansible, or similar

• Analyze requirements and aid in designing technical solutions to meet business goals, objectives and functional/non-functional requirements in alignment with architectural standards

• Designs, tests, and debugs interfaces

• Assists in day-to-day operations; troubleshooting problems arising from regular use, production support, and maintaining platform

• Work with team members and leaders to proactively identify and mitigate/resolve risks and issues

• Document all technical processes, requirements, flows and diagrams; develop appropriate requirements, design, testing and deployment documentation to support the solution delivery

• Identifies tasks and interrelationships to evaluate technical and cross-technical requirements

• Provides the operational support for developing and maintaining the enterprise information architecture related to Azure framework

• Work closely and be in alignment with IT, other project and legacy architect(s) and business team

• Drive and perform products, new technologies and solutions from proof of concept through evaluation

Position Specifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline or the equivalent work experience and technical training

• 3-5 years of experience in data and analytics

• Strong development experience in Azure ADF, Hive-SQL, Power BI

• 2-3 years of experience in Migrating applications SSIS/SSAS based applications to Azure ADF and AAS

• 2-3 years of experience in defining cloud migration journey for on-Prem BI solutions

• 2-3 years of experience in Azure PAAS offerings (ADF/ADLS GEN2/HD Insights/hive/AAS/PowerBI)

• Strong work ethic and a desire to help drive a successful end-to-end delivery across projects

• Experience in designing and managing continuous delivery system and methodologies on Azure

• Understand and anticipate internal and external customer needs and proactively design solutions

• Establish and maintain close working relationships with key stakeholders to understand business objectives, anticipate demand and rapidly respond with working solutions

• Hands on experience in building and deploying enterprise-level Azure framework and associated technologies

• Strong knowledge in system integrations and understanding of relational databases

• Knowledge of SDLC processes and tools and Agile or SCRUM processes

• Ability to handle cross-browser and cross-platform issues effectively

• Holistic solution, design and architecture skills

• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and program complex application stack

• Excellent interpersonal, communication and team-facilitation skills

• Strong attention to detail and deadlines

• Ability to work well under pressure and work on multiple projects concurrently

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
