Rate Strategy Consultant / Advisor- Develops, analyzes, revises and administers the organization's tariff schedules. Compiles, studies and maintains rate, revenue, load and customer data to assess the effectiveness of current tariff schedules and rules, to administer and develop cost of service, and develops proposals to change the organization's existing rates and rules.( Strategy Analytics / Business Strategy Consultant / Rate Consultant / Strategic Business Analyst)

What your day would be like:

You are responsible for:

  • Calculation and development of rates including the identification and allocation of costs across different classes as well as preparation of standard filing requirements to support the calculations.
  • Project management responsibility and oversight of Transmission rate calculations with a broad group of stakeholders.
  • Periodic analysis of segmented customer rate impacts, scenario modeling, and financial impact modeling. Ability to provide ad hoc support to evaluate financial impacts of various proposals with minimal direction The kinds of people we want to talk to have done many of the following:
  • Analyzed customer usage patterns and the corresponding impact on costs.
  • Built and supported complex financial models.
  • Written queries and used analytical tools such as SAS, SQL, etc. Minimum Requirements Rate Strategy Consultant
  • BS degree in economics, mathematics, finance, accounting, engineering or related discipline plus 7 year’s utility or related analytical experience.
  • An advanced degree in the above disciplines may substitute for two years’ experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, an equivalent combination of education and experience totally 11 years is required.
  • Broad and in-depth knowledge of utility rate economics, principles and practices.
  • In-depth knowledge of APS rate policies, practices and tariffs.
  • Advanced Excel modeling skills required. Prior experience developing queries using SAS, SQL or comparable preferred. Minimum Requirements Rate Strategy Advisor
  • BS degree in economics, mathematics, finance, accounting, engineering or related discipline plus ten (10) years related utility experience.
  • An advanced degree in the above disciplines may substitute for two (2) years’ experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, an equivalent combination of education and experience totaling fourteen (14) years is required.
  • Broad and in-depth knowledge of utility rate economics, principles and practices.
  • Expert knowledge of utility rate economics, principles and practices.
  • In-depth knowledge of APS rate policies, practices and tariffs.
  • Advanced Excel modeling skills required. Prior experience developing queries using SAS, SQL or comparable preferred.
