Iberdrola USA Summer Placement in United States
SP Energy Networks is part of the ScottishPower Group of companies. We provide power on behalf of supply companies through a network of cables and power lines that we own and maintain.
We do it responsibly. We do it with respect for people and for the environment. We do it looking at the long term, not just today. We do it innovatively.
We're dedicated to delivering a safe and reliable electricity supply to all of our customers 24 hours a day, every dayof the year. Through our transmission and distribution network we provide power to customers in Merseyside, Cheshire, North Wales and North Shropshire as well as Central and Southern Scotland.
Business and Department
The SP Energy Networks Sustainability Team was formed in 2015 and supports our Transmission and Distribution licences.
Our mission is to maintain compliance with environmental regulations through adherence to and development of our ISO14001 Environmental Management System. The team is also driving improvements beyond compliance with the implementation of an ambitious Sustainable Business Strategy, focussing on becoming carbon neutral, achieving zero waste and cutting water use by 2050.
We engage with individuals and departments across SP Energy Networks, the ScottishPower Group of companies and colleagues in our parent company Iberdrola in Spain, as well as external stakeholders from Central and Devolved Government, environmental regulators, Non-Governmental Organisations, academic institutions and other Sustainability focussed organisations.
We are in the process of improving and seeking re-certification of our Environmental Management System which involves identifying and delivering environmental improvements, revising business processes to take account of environmental issues and requirements, undertaking environmental audits and closing out issues and actions thus recorded.
We are also communicating our Sustainable Business Strategy both externally and internally to ensure our Strategymeets the needs of stakeholders and that business activities and processes are updated to enable the delivery of our Goals and Objectives.
Suitable candidates are sought who have an eye for detail in identifying issues, the tenacity to drive positive change
and the charisma with which to inspire those they communicate with that their ideas and methods are sound, as they support us in the delivery of these activities.
Our Summer Placement programme operates from June through to September to coincide with University summer break with placements lasting up to 16 weeks.
