South Jersey Industries Strategic Project Administrator Lead in United States

Position Summary

Strategic Project Administrators within the Strategic Operations group will plan, develop, manage and implement strategic company projects that may fall outside the scope of regular duties. Responsibilities include coordinating with internal and external experts, as necessary, to evaluate regulatory, capital, resource and other relevant requirements necessary to successfully implement the project and, in cooperation with the EPMO, will implement the project within an approved budget and timeline.

Roles within Strategic Operations are responsible for investor relations, generating innovation and improving business processes, prioritizing, managing, executing and integrating business opportunities, and exploring opportunities for joint ventures and/or mergers and acquisitions.

Roles and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Independently researching, planning and executing wider array of Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) tasks that support non-routine activities and project goals

  • Coordinating with outside entities and being the lead contact on RNG potential projects

  • Selecting appropriate methods and techniques pertaining to RNG that includes technical specification of RNG and the impacts it has to the SJI systems

  • Collaborating with supervisory personnel outside of the Strategic Operations group to lead and develop project plans for injection of RNG into an SJI system. This can include the location of the injection station, equipment required, and timeline of implantation

  • Maintaining familiarity with processes and structures and applying appropriately to various projects

  • Presenting and educating both internally and externally on the benefits of RNG for SJI

  • Possibly leading group meetings. Presenting results of work, interpreting data, and drawing conclusions regarding presented material and nature of work

This role will have a wide range of experiences and use professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways. You will work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. It is expected that you will exercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Additionally, you will network with key contacts outside own area of expertise.

It is expected that your role assists in project design that will enable the department/ group/team to meet goals. You will impact your own work team and cross-functional project teams. Additionally, it is expected that you will make decisions that impact the company’s ability to achieve short-term timelines.

You will determine methods and procedures on new assignments. You may coordinate activities of other personnel (Team Lead). Your role typically reports to Managers/ Directors.

Additionally, the level and nature of interaction of your role includes:

  • Providing training and guidance to new team members

  • Serving as a technical resource or subject matter expert on processes and techniques to more junior employees

This is a role that contributes through own efforts and application of expertise, skills, or tasks.


• Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of relevant experience, or;• Master’s degree with 6 years of relevant experience.• Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
