The role of Senior Product and Strategy Development Manager sits within the Residential Products team in the Marketing department. With your dedication, drive and commitment to getting it right with a never-ending desire to learn, improve and contribute you will have an integral part to play within ScottishPower Energy Retail business to lead the development, improvement and management of all activities related to product development in the UK Retail for residential energy products.

As Senior Product and Strategy Development Manager you will have direct involvement in making a difference to achieve business goals on a global platform as an effective communicator at all level of stakeholders and the ability to prioritise workloads through your on the job experience in similar roles with a track record of innovative thinking and bringing this to fruition.

We are looking for someone to lead the creation and development of innovative products that give ScottishPower a competitive advantage and adhere to our commercial objectives. The role of SeniorProduct and Strategy Development Manager sits within the Residential Products team in ScottishPower’s Marketing



  • Ensure we have the right mix of products and manage these throughout their lifecycle

  • Evolve the product portfolio to keep pace with the competitive market, changes in customer demand and disruptive technology

  • Lead the pricing strategy to develop compelling propositions that also adhere to their commercial objectives

  • Create and analyse multiple data sets to create insights that can be used to shape propositions, create a better understanding of our customer base and support ‘Next Best Action’ activity.

  • Develop business cases and financial forecasts that relate to new product introduction or impact to our existing product portfolio.

  • Analyse market viability, customer needs and volume projections

  • Understand implications to commercial targets Identifying and delivering key process improvement based on data trends



  • Have a strong understanding of the UK Retail gas and electricity market

  • Have further post graduate qualifications

  • Be an expert in programming techniques to enhance data analytics

  • Be an excellent communicator both in writing and in person

  • Hold a track record of innovative thinking and bringing this to fruition

  • Be a high energy, results oriented individual

  • Display proven experience analysing market data and developing strategic pricing plans

  • Ability to drive results


  • Hold a bachelor's degree qualification - Economics/Marketing/Analytical

  • Display proven capabilities in effective decision making and strategy development

  • Have excellent numeracy skills, with understanding of statistical methods an advantage

  • Have excellent stakeholder management skills and be able to successfully interact at all levels

  • Have experience in managing a team and developing individuals
