Regulatory Compliance Consultant / Regulatory Compliance Advisor (NERC)Manages compliance to North American Electrical Reliability/Western Electricity Coordinating Council (NERC/WECC) Reliability Standards through strategic business partnerships with designated APS business subject matter experts (SME) and senior management. Advises in the areas of regulatory strategic planning and decision making to support the overall APS compliance framework.
Proactively anticipates changes in the regulatory environment and advises on actions to prepare the organization. Monitors operations to ensure compliance with Federal and Regional Regulatory Standards, assesses compliance risk and recommends remedies. Evaluates information received from various regulatory agencies and shares data and analysis with business. Oversees and directs day-to-day execution of APS' NERC regulatory compliance program. Evaluates operating events, coordinates corrective action and reports on lessons learned. Represents Company position informally or through testimony with regulators, industry, trade organizations, etc. Directs and/or performs research and analyses for the administration of the NERC Internal Compliance Plan to ensure compliance with Reliability Standards.
Minimum RequirementsRegulatory Compliance Consultant (NERC)
- Bachelor's Degree and minimum seven (7) years’ related utility based regulatory compliance experience.
- In lieu of a degree, an equivalent combination of education and experience totaling eleven (11) years is required.
- Broad and in-depth knowledge of federal and regional electric utility industry and associated regulatory / legislative issues and related compliance requirements.

- Bachelor's Degree and minimum ten (10) years’ related utility based regulatory compliance experience.
- In lieu of a degree, an equivalent combination of education and experience totaling (14) years is required.
- Expert knowledge of federal and regional electric utility industry and associated regulatory / legislative issues and related compliance requirements.
This position may require access to and/or use of information subject to control under the Department of Energy's Part 810 Regulations (10 CFR Part 810), the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) (15 CFR Parts 730 through 774), or the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) (22 CFR Chapter I, Subchapter M Part 120) (collectively, "U.S. Export Control Laws"). Therefore, some positions may require applicants to be a U.S. person, which is defined as a U.S. Citizen, a U.S. Lawful Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), a Political Asylee, or a Refugee under the U.S. Export Control Laws.
