Quanta Services Regional Safety Director - Power East in United States
The Regional Safety Director, Power East leads operations in areas of injury prevention, task assessment, communications and regulatory compliance. Develops, implements and manages company safety programs, policies and procedures. Builds support through aligning with operations to develop vision and strategy to enhance injury free environment. Provides leadership and direction to all direct reports.
Provides strategic direction on planning, development, administration, and management of organizational safety policies, programs, systems and training.
Consults Operating Units and company Safety professionals to ensure the safety strategy is implemented effectively, within established budgets and complies with all relevant regulations, laws and employment standards.
Guides Operation Units in implementation of overall strategy for continuous improvement of all safety initiatives.
Develops, implements, administers, and updates safety policies and procedures in coordination with updates to regulations, best practices and corporate policy.
Reports safety performance measurement with a focus on leading indicators.
Analyzes and recommends corrective action for all accidents.
Provides technical expertise, strategic leadership and support for all regulatory compliance safety issues
Reinforces safety culture with field crews.
Adheres to internal standards, policies and procedures.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Safety Management, Safety Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Sciences, Engineering or related fields and 10 years of Safety experience, including 3 years of managerial experience
- At least 18 years of Safety experience, including 3 years of managerial experience in lieu of education and experience mentioned above
Utility construction or oil & gas industry experience
Knowledge of federal, state and local safety laws
Must reside in territory and will office remotely
Preferred Education and Experience:
Master’s Degree in Safety Management, Safety Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Sciences, Engineering or related fields
Experience working in a highly decentralized organization.Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTSPercent of time: Up to 80%

LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS
Demonstrated knowledge of safety rules and regulations at all levels of government, including federal, state and local
Experience with auditing processes and use of the information to affect change
Current knowledge of HSE regulations and ability to access and navigate regulatory databases
Ability to establish, build and maintain effective relationships with Operating Units and represent the company in a public forum
Ability to develop, update and manage workplace safety programs, procedures and policies
