Provide overall administrative and technical management on assigned project from bid preparation through final acceptance by client. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS 1. Provide initial client contact to assess scope of work and resources required to successfully complete project. 2. Prepare complete estimate for selected project with detailed review of proposal specifications, drawings, takeoff information, and contracting. 3. Supervise total construction effort to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design, codes & standards, budget and schedule. Includes interfacing with client representatives, other contractors, etc. 4. Plan, coordinate and supervise on-site functions (scheduling, engineering, material control, and may provide day-to-day direction of onsite administrative staff in accounting, purchasing, etc.). 5. Investigate any situations with potential project impacts, mitigate wherever possible and initiate correcting actions as necessary. 6. Supervise craft employees by working closely with the on-site foreman. May have to supervise work of other contractors as required by the contract. 7. Provide technical assistance (i.e., interpretations of drawings and recommending construction methods and equipment, etc. as required). Initiate and maintain extra work estimating and issuance of change orders. 8. Responsible for productivity of crafts, efficient use of material and equipment, and contractual performance of the project. 9. Ensure company’s safety initiatives are followed by all on-site employees. Investigate, report, and correct any safety-related incidents. 10. This position is required to drive. Safely drive various vehicles. Obtain, as necessary, all moving permits, licenses, titles, safety checks, etc. as required by corporate policy, state or federal regulations or client requirements. 11. Perform additional duties as assigned. # Minimum Qualifications: MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Educational and experience requirements include: Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering or related field. Equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience is also acceptable. Five or more years construction management. Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, methods); craft agreements, jurisdiction, negotiations; engineering, estimating, schedules and safety required. Must have safe driving record and a valid driver’s license according to legal requirements. KEY SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES Requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and complete projects on schedule. Advanced knowledge and skills in the use of various Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Excellent communication, organizational and supervisory skills are essential. Must maintain confidentiality and contribute to a team-oriented work environment. PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Emphasis in traffic signals, street lighting, and/or intelligent transportation system projects preferred. Electrical project management preferred.
