What We’re Looking For
The Transmission & Distribution (T&D) Division of Capital Electric Line Builders, Inc. is currently seeking an entry level Project Manager for electrical construction work. This position will be responsible for assisting more senior Project Managers with all phases of the construction project lifecycle for projects within the T&D Division. Position will be based in St. Louis, Mo. / Metro East Area, though travel may be required on various projects through assigned region.
What You’ll Need
Minimum Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor’s in Engineering or Construction Management, Engineering or related field required
Proficient knowledge and skills in the use of various Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Knowledge of cost accounting, basic estimating, construction technology, purchasing and project controls.
Effective verbal and written communication skills are essential.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
- Experience with Microsoft Project is a plus.
Assist Project Manager in planning work schedule, determining manpower levels, and arranging for assignment of project personnel. ? The focus will be to assist in accomplishing project goals and objectives on time and within budget. Performs duties under the functional direction of a more senior project manager, with their direct supervisor being the assigned manager. Duties may be performed in either an office or field office environment. Specific tasks of the job may vary depending on project, location and available staff.
Advise Project Manager of potential problems, work interferences, and schedule difficulties. Assist in circumventing and/or resolving such problems, as assigned.
Assist with project planning, scheduling, purchasing, reporting, tracking and safety.
Perform tasks required to assist in the development and maintenance of budgets for a portion of a project. Includes coding timesheets, invoices, etc., collecting actual quantities installed, monitoring progress per cost account, identifying potential cost overruns, etc.
Perform cost control and/or estimating assignments.
Assist with or update construction forecast to reflect most accurate current cost and estimate information.
Assist in analyzing work progress and developing craft productivity reports to document cost/budget activity.
Calculate or prepare various comparison reports, charts and tables for project analysis.
Assist in preparing special reports, studies, etc. requested by the client and/or project management.
Assist in management and issuance of subcontracts.
Assist with material procurement and coordination.
Oversee and/or process day-to-day administrative items, as required.
May provide supervision and/or on-the-job training to clerical personnel assigned to area of responsibility.
