Job Summary: Responsible for making our #1 critical success factor, safety first, a priority in all tasks and activities performed by self and all others involved. Prepares design materials for basic design assignments. This includes basic analysis, design calculations, equipment research, and sketches required in order to prepare documents, specifications drawings or to meet other requirements. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS 1. Develop familiarity with design standards, applicable engineering codes and company policies. Receives specific and detailed instructions in carrying our required tasks. 2. Apply standard practices and techniques in analyzing data and results, and recognize practical solutions to basic engineering problems. 3. Prepare basic design sketches for drafting and incorporate into design criteria. May coordinate design with other personnel working on same project to minimize design conflicts. 4. Develop preliminary layouts. May be assigned to coordinate engineering & design activities with manufacturing personnel. Review manufacturer’s drawings with respect to company’s design criteria. 5. Maintain engineering records and lists as required by corporate, client, and department necessity. 6. Perform additional duties as assigned # Minimum Qualifications: Educational and experience requirements include: Four year engineering degree, preferably BSME or equivalent experience. Experience in 3D CAD, Autodesk Autocad, Hydralics-closed loop systems, and Manufacturing Design. KEY SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES Requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and complete projects on schedule. Ability to assume responsibility, interface and communicate effectively with others. PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor in Science, Mechanical Engineering. 5-10 years field experience.
