JOB SUMMARY: Scope of Work - Main duties, settings, geography, reporting relationships, other relationships:
Responsible for the delivery of the Substation Electric Capital Projects, including project unit management, planning and control, and coordination of activities with Process and Technology, System Planning, Real Estate and other internal and external stakeholders do deliver the Substations Projects portfolio in accordance with the AVANGRID Networks investment plan.
MAJOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Scope of work - range of responsibilities):
Manage multi -year substation electric capital projects investment portfolio in order to meet capital budget, reliability and customer requirements.
Manage overall functions within the group and aligning activities of other departments associated with capital projects
Oversee the preparation and ensure delivery of projects in accordance with multi –year project budgets and the tracking, cost control, and reporting of actual Capex and O&M; expenditures.
Responsible for employee goals and objectives ensuring alignment with department and corporate goals.
Managing the Substations Projects safety, compliance, environmental and/or regulatory requirements working with Projects Technical Services department.
Represents the company on various teams or committees regarding state, regional or national issues. Acts as liaison for the Company with customers and with state and municipal agencies to coordinate efforts.
Proactive management of portfolio to minimize non conformities to project scopes, schedule and estimates. Works with Projects area to improve overall performance of the Project Units including performing portfolio level risk analysis, and corrective action.
Education & Experience Required:
Bachelors Degree with a minimum of 10 years relevant experience preferred. Master’s Degree Preferred.
Thorough knowledge of company, federal and state policies and procedures
Prior supervisory/management experience
Familiarity with budget preparation
Knowledge of system design, construction and maintenance practices, project management practices
- PE license desirable
Able to solve complex problems
Project management skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Fluent in English
