Position Summary

In an important role within the Total Rewards team, you will be assisting to drive compensation plans for those innovators and pioneers at South Jersey Industries.Participate in the design and support the implementation and communication of the Company’s executive and broad-based compensation strategy, plans, policies and programs to ensure alignment with overall business strategy and external market. Work closely with the SJI Compensation team to advance strategic projects, enhance programs, streamline operations, and strengthen employees’ experience.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the annual compensation processes and provides analytical and tactical support for merit and bonus recommendations for the Company’s broad base and executive employees

  • Manages the annual survey process and participation in third party compensation surveys by identifying and completing the surveys to obtain market intelligence on the practices of our competitors

  • Conduct ongoing benchmarking/market and best practice research & survey analysis to evaluate program competitiveness, monitor market trends, interpret results and make recommendations based on results

  • Participate in Job Architecture related projects including review of current program, job evaluations/analysis, benchmarking

  • Provide analytical and project management support to compensation and company projects as needed.

  • Manage compensation projects; work with HR Business Partners to implement, communicate and oversee programs in support of new initiatives or changes.

  • Responsible for supporting the preparation of Board meeting materials and the preparation of the CD&A (Compensation Discussion & Analysis) within the Company's annual proxy statement as well as related compensation and benefits disclosures

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in Business, Human Resources or related degree.

  • 8 years’ work experience in HR, , to include 5 years’ experience in Compensation

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel

  • Analytical skills as well as the ability to manage multiple tasks, effective prioritization, and attention to detail

    Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • CCP or related certification will be a plus

  • Experience in HRIS systems and ad hoc reporting. Knowledge of Workday desirable.

  • Experience with sales incentive programs and plan design.
