ConEdison Solutions Systems Analyst in Valhalla, New York
The Systems Analyst who will serve as a primary contact for any questions related to system functionality from both a business and technical perspective. The Systems Analyst partners with business representatives to translate business requirements into technical specifications, as well as partners with CEB IT and vendors to develop logical technical processes. The Systems Analyst also performs interdependency analysis related to system upgrades and changes. This includes assisting with system upgrades and enhancements to ensure that project tasks are completed on schedule. The Systems Analyst must have the ability to perform support and analysis tasks independently or with minimum guidance.
Partners with business representatives and technical teams to understand system goals and business requirements in order to develop technical system requirements.
Coordinates small project initiatives
Creates technical specifications and processes using structured analysis and data modeling techniques (e.g., activity diagrams, swim lane charts, entity-relationship diagrams, etc.).
Supports existing vendor applications including training, troubleshooting, enhancing performance and resolving production problems.
Participates in system and user acceptance testing efforts.
Understands system interdependencies and collaborates with project teams accordingly.
Performs other related assignments, as required.
Education:
- College degree in Information Systems or equivalent education preferred.
Technical Skills:
Experience working within Windows environment including Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Office 365 Products, Microsoft Sharepoint, Microsoft Visio, Microsoft SQLServer
Experience working with business systems (e.g., HR, Financial, IT)
Experience writing software requirement specifications and test specifications
Experience developing reports
Familiarity with programming languages such as XML, HTML and .Net Framework (including VB.NET, C#, ASP.NET)
Skills:
Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and changing business requirements
Ability to quickly troubleshoot problems that may arise in work products
Ability to partner with internal clients, software vendors and technical consultants to identify resolutions
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication skills
Understanding of software development methodologies
Able to work independently or in a group
Highly flexible and open to new ideas
Detail oriented and self-motivated individual
Experience:
Must have a minimum 1+ years of experience in system or business analysis.
Ability to learn new technologies as required for the job using documentation and other available sources
Ability to handle multiple assignments with changing priorities while meeting deadlines
Must be flexible to work off hours as required to install product upgrades, support production problems and other corporate emergencies.
