ABOUT THE POSITION

This position will assist in Con Edison Clean Energy Business’ Market Development activity. The Senior Analyst will ensure that the conditions for our company to thrive exist in the markets in which we do business and that new opportunities for growth are identified. Our Market Development team works to protect the company’s investments and to expand the number of markets with Community Solar or other similar incentive-based DG programs. The Senior Analyst will work collaboratively across the CEB’s various functional areas to ensure colleagues are kept abreast of relevant policy issues and changes and will identify where there are opportunities for improvements in program design or rules.

  • Attend and participate in trade association meetings, advocating for CEB priorities and gathering competitive intelligence; Write summaries of meetings for weekly Policy updates.

  • Manages various special projects analyzing Federal and State programs and agency initiatives.

  • Market Research: Identify new market opportunities in the form of programs, proposed legislation or regulation changes which could represent an opportunity for the CEB.

  • Draft CEB and/or trade association comments/Redline proposed comments.

  • Provide ongoing and regular feedback to Management and functional teams relevant to key opportunities and provide reports as necessary.

  • Attend legislative and/or Regulatory meetings and write summaries for Management.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Liberal Arts discipline such as Political Science, American studies or English, or a degree in Environmental Science is preferred

EXPERIENCE

  • 2-5 years related experience in solar development or policy advocacy

  • Experience in renewable energy industry preferred

  • Experience or coursework with Public Policy is preferred

SKILLS

  • Critical reading skills, and the ability to comprehend and translate regulatory and legislative language

  • Experience presenting and/or participating in public meetings and workshops

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • High energy level, motivated

  • Ability to multi-task

  • Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
