Purpose

Lead Avangrid Renewables’ stakeholder engagement and support the marketing of the 2.5 gigawatt (GW) Kitty Hawk Offshore Wind project, located offshore of Virginia and North Carolina. Principal activities will be the development, implementation, and management of the stakeholder engagement plan for the collective projects. Duties will include the establishment of initiatives to market Kitty Hawk Offshore Wind within the region and create and maintain brand awareness in the region in line with parent company goals. In addition, where necessary, wider strategic and business support maybe required.

The role would require the day-to-day management of the necessary schedule, budget, risk and lessons learned to meet business planning and contractual requirements.

Coordinating and managing input from external and internal stakeholders and effectively managing multiple business drivers in a high pressure and dynamic business is essential. It is therefore essential the successful candidate is able to establish, foster and maintain team spirit and morale through periods of intense workload and activity.

As the key point of contact with the external community, it is essential that the successful candidate is respected advocate for the industry and able to effectively build relations between the project, State/Federal agencies, and the wider community.

Responsibilities

• Serves as the Lead Stakeholder Outreach for the Kitty Hawk project that includes the development and implementation of and agreed Stakeholder Engagement Strategy

• Identify and liaise with key stakeholders to effectively market the offshore wind industry, Avangrid Renewables and the project within the mid-Atlantic region.

• Develop comprehensive and effective outreach strategies for presenting Kitty Hawk’s mission and operations to external stakeholders.

• Plan and direct implementation outreach strategy including establishing and maintaining relationships with key organizations to further Kitty Hawk’s external presence.

• Lead activities that drive engagement from stakeholders in partnership initiatives that are critical to the execution of the project’s planning and permitting strategy.

• Identify new and innovative opportunities for engagement with stakeholders based on changes in project schedule.

• Develop annual work plan detailing the strategy and tactics for foundation engagement, as well as communications and relations with external stakeholders.

• Advises and counsels Project Director on stakeholder outreach issues, proactive establishment and maintenance of positive relationships with key stakeholders, impact of company and project decisions on external relations.

• Willingness to travel and lead presentations on project status updates to groups of interested stakeholders.

Skills and Requirements

• 5+ years of experience working in complex industry with a proven ability to develop and implement effective stakeholder engagement strategies.

• Experience working with/in a large corporate business.

• Experience leading and interacting with cross-functional teams.

• Experience in marketing and community engagement initiatives would be advantageous.

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
