About Transmission andDistribution
Southern California Edison’s (SCE's) Transmission and Distribution Organizational Unit (T & D) is responsible for planning, engineering, constructing, operating, and maintaining transmission and distribution facilities throughout the 50,000-square-mile territory. T&D is the steward of roughly $19 billion in assets that safely and reliably deliver electricity to 14 million residents via SCE’s 5 million customer accounts.
The Resource Planning and Performance Manager (RPPM) is responsible for resource planning and performance management within the region. The RPPM reviews long range work requirements and develops a regional work plan that meets the organizational objectives. They will look at resource availability and determining whether it is to be allocated to SCE or contractor resources, and assign as appropriate. The RPPM provides direction to the Regional Management Team on core philosophies and objectives and works with the RPPM core team to develop metrics that will drive the correct behaviors for performance management. The position has a matrix relationship to DBL RPPM and provides functional guidance to the Regional Project Superintendent and District Managers. Additionally, the RPPM has a matrixed leadership role with the district PRS (Performance and Resource Supervisor) and is responsible to make sure effective controls are in place within the region and will be responsible to act as a process owner for many of the performance management strategies and policies and ensure effective allocation of financial and manpower resources required for all inspection, maintenance, customer request, and SCE projects.

Regional workforce strategyimplementation.
Daily contact with Region ProjectSuperintendent regarding assignment of SCE projects for contracting purposes.
Regional Work Priority StrategyImplementation, as well as development and implementation of Regional short andlong term strategies.
Coordinating, managing and executingmajor projects within the region, including DSP, Infrastructure replacement.
Applicant Install, InstallationManagement Services projects and the capital and O & M maintenance program.
Working closely with project managers todevelop and implement annual scope as required and providing bi-weekly statusupdates on projects.
Work collaboratively on cross functionalteams and diverse projects.
Providing direction for work to be performedand desired results.
Tracking and forecasting Capital and O& M budgets.
Providing oversight to the site specificEH&S compliance program.
Ensuring all contracted services areprocessed timely and accurately, including purchase requisitions and serviceentry sheet entries.
Managing resources during storms withinthe region and across DBL.
- Five or more years’ combined experience managing, supervising or leading an organizational unit.
Bachelor Degree in applicable profession, business, or technical discipline.
Typically possesses 3 yearsof experience in project management.
Project ManagementProfessional Certification (PMP)
Managingresource planning and allocation of work across organizational units,including contract work force.
Developing midand long range forecast and strategy development to meet work requirementsand resource needs.
Experienceconducting performance management including developing and monitoringscorecards.
Working withproject managers to develop and implement annual scope and providingbi-weekly status updates on projects.
Experiencemonitoring and assisting with adherence to regulatory compliancestandards, policies and procedures.
Managing talentthrough selecting and developing employees, evaluating performance,motivating and recognizing top performance, and managing underperformance.
Excellent oraland written communication skills to deliver information across all levelsof the organization, some of which may be technical or sensitive innature.
Demonstratedability to follow Edison safety protocols and safe work practices.
Ability tointegrate work across relevant areas, develop the business and services toenhance customer satisfaction and productivity, manage risksappropriately, develop and execute business plans, manage information, andprovide exceptional service to internal and external customers.
Effectiveresource and project planning, decision making, results delivery, teambuilding, and the ability to stay current with relevant technology andinnovation.
Strong ethics,influence and negotiation, leadership, interpersonal skills,communication, and the ability to effectively manage stress and engage incontinuous learning.
