E-I or E-II, Bulk System Planning Engineer
Provides technical support of the transmission planning activities of the Corporation by performing transmission planning studies, evaluating alternative transmission plans, and initiating capital projects under the guidance of more senior engineers. Expectations include developing the skill sets to perform tasks with limited supervision.
Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
Level I: Zero to eighteen months.
Level II: Eighteen months, preferably with an electric utility
Level I: None
Level II: Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
Or, Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering Technology with two and a half (2.5) years of experience in the electric utility industry in an engineering role.
Or Bachelor of Science degree in a related engineering field, with a Professional Engineer license (Electrical Discipline) and one (1) year of experience in the electric utility industry in an engineering role.
Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations: EIT certification preferred.
Specialized Skills (e.g., typing, computers, software, tools and equipment uses, etc.):
Essential skill sets include computer skills (MS office, power flow analysis software), financial & economic analysis capability, good interpersonal & analytical skills, and effective oral and written communication skills.
Non-essential desired skill sets include computer programming capability (develop/debug code).
