Associate Project Control Specialist, II


With moderate supervision & support, provide a full suite of project control services to transmission line and substation capital project teams in a matrixed environment. Create, maintain, monitor and analyze 75+ cost and resource loaded capital project schedules using Primavera Project Management software. Develop risk mitigation action plans to correct negative trends in cost and schedule. Communicate performance to management and project team. Assemble project budgets & develop on-going forecasts. Perform cost variance analysis & reporting. Support GTC Capital Program management function, in particular the development of GTC's annual Capital Program budget. Prepare project close-out documents and provide analysis of results of each project.

Education: Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Accounting, Finance, or Construction Management.

Experience: 1.5 years of project controls-related or financial analysis experience at this level.

Equivalent Experience: A mixture of education and experience in project scheduling, project costing, and/or scheduling software will be considered.

Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations: Willing to pursue registration as a PMI Project Management Professional (PMP), Six Sigma Certification, and/or AACE Planning and Scheduling Professional (PSP).

Specialized Skills (e.g., typing, computers, software, tools and equipment uses, etc.): Must be able to quickly gain advanced proficiency in Primavera Project Management software. Experience with Primavera or MS Project is preferred. Must have excellent interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills. Must have strong technical competency and analytical ability. Must be able to work independently. Must have advanced skill with MS Office Excel and be proficient with the remaining MS Office Professional Suite (Word, PowerPoint). Experience with relational databases (SQL/Access) is also preferred.
