Responsibilities

Applies management, operations, and interpersonal skills to resolve regulatory issues with some direction from supervision to support the operation of Palo Verde. Responsible for making regulatory decisions and interpretations, and interfacing with regulators. Provides regulatory and operations guidance and leadership to PVGS.

Minimum Requirements REGULATORY AFFAIRS CONSULTANT

Bachelor's Degree, or holds or has held an SRO license; or five (5) years power plant experience; of which three (3) years shall be nuclear. Preferred Special Skills, Knowledge, or Qualifications: Operations and/or Regulatory Affairs (Licensing or Compliance) experience.

Nuclear requirement: Any PVGS employee may be called upon to serve as a member of the Emergency Response Organization (ERO) and will be expected to fulfill their obligation as an ERO member. This is a condition of employment at PVGS. Roles and Responsibilities defined in Policy 1503 and implementing policy guide are applicable to all PVGS employees.

Any PVGS employee may be called upon to support a refueling or short-notice outage. This includes line roles and responsibilities as necessary to execute outage activities.

REGULATORY AFFAIRS CONSULTANT SR

Bachelor's Degree and eight (8) years power plant experience; of which five (5) years shall be nuclear. OR, Holds or has held an SRO license/certification and eight (8) years power plant experience; of which five (5) years shall be nuclear. OR, Twelve (12) years power plant experience; of which seven (7) years shall be nuclear; of which three (3) years shall be applicable nuclear regulatory. Preferred Special Skills, Knowledge, or Qualifications: Operations and/or Regulatory Affairs (Licensing or Compliance) experience.

Major Accountabilities 1) Provide regulatory guidance and leadership to PVNGS on operations issues.

2) Manage complex operations issues by providing the regulator's perspective and being the regulatory conscience for the site within a functional area of emphasis, considering the broader implications of the issues and driving them to resolution.

3) Know and implement regulatory requirements to ensure compliance with Palo Verde licensing basis. Proactively communicate with regulators and Palo Verde organizations to advocate regulatory strategies and facilitate issue resolution.

4) Develop and implement strategies on complex regulatory issues that are operational in nature.

5) Evaluate regulatory trends in assigned functional area of emphasis and develop appropriate recommendations to improve regulatory performance.

6) Anticipate customer needs and respond quickly, accurately, and professionally.

7) Independently review operations/event analysis; prepare technical documentation which is accurate, complete, and timely for submittal to regulatory agencies.

8) Complete projects on time using planning and scheduling techniques.
