National Grid Program Manager, Electric Vehicles in Syracuse, New York

National Grid seeks a Program Manager for a new Electric Transportation Initiative. As part of the New York Customer Solutions Team, the successful candidate will be knowledgeable of transportation innovations and have an understanding of clean technology policies and initiatives. Candidate should demonstrate success working with partner agencies, internal and external stakeholders, and be able to deliver results against targets and goals in a team environment.

This role is responsible for managing program performance, reporting and engagement activities collaborating with marketing and business partners to deliver results against approved program targets, products, and services to customers segments in the defined service territories. The Program Manager will be responsible for collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to monitor, report, develop, deliver and communicate information on Electric Vehicle (EV) technology, and educational factors that influence EV adoption rates. This role will be responsible for developing relationships with large commercial and multi-family customers with the goal of installing EV charging stations that support growth in employee and tenant EV adoption.

The Program Manager is expected to work both independently and collaboratively to ensure customer satisfaction, increase productivity, develop best practices and market-driven strategies. A successful candidate will demonstrate a proven track record of analyzing, managing and delivering results as well as excellent communication and leadership skills.

_Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to):_

  • Deliver high-quality work with adherence to internal and external deadlines.

  • Responsible for managing and forecasting against approved program budgets.

  • Support portfolio budgets, sales targets, and collaborate with internal and external partners to develop robust strategies that offer best-in-class approaches for the market, product or service being delivered.

  • Responsible for creating mutually beneficial partnerships with key trade allies, agencies and organizations in support of state energy goals.

  • Monthly/Biweekly analysis, monitoring, and reporting of progress goals and targets including support of regulatory reports and filings.

  • Monthly/Biweekly analysis and monitoring of progress of budgets, spending categories as well as quarterly and annual forecasts. Including timely review and approval of invoices, accruals and ad hoc reporting as requested.

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver market specific communications that drive action and convey important information about the programs offerings, goals or targets.

  • Coordinate, manage and execute sales, marketing and/or gap closure tactics to boost program performance to goals.

  • Coordinate with Marketing to education customers and vendors in support of programs goals.

  • Challenge existing ways of working and continuously seek ways to do things better in order to drive greater efficiencies within assigned area.

  • Support, review and provide feedback on primary data and secondary research that analyzes energy efficiency trends, new measures development and/or new approaches and performance targets for the market or rate cases.

  • Contribute to the research and implementation of best practices, exploring ways to streamline processes and reporting and collaboration with internal departments and external agencies to drive program success.

  • Proactively seek ways to improve the program’s services for our customers by soliciting customer and stakeholder feedback. This includes but is not limited to supporting a variety of internal stakeholders, such as regulatory, strategy, and program evaluation, sales, procurement, legal, corporate communications as requested.

  • Represent National Grid values when communicating with key internal and external stakeholders such as business, municipal, or regulatory agencies.

  • Develop and maintain a technical understanding of energy products, services, and measures that apply to programs, technologies, and properties.

  • Develop and maintain a solid understanding of the business by staying abreast of business trends, and learning and sharing best practices.

  • Travel periodically to different locations within the National Grid service territory.

_Knowledge & Experience Required:_

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Sustainability or Urban Planning or a related required; Advanced degree preferred.

  • Proficient in relevant software e.g. Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), along with the ability to manage, report and present data as well as learn other programs and applications such as Salesforce and SAP.

  • 3 years’ successful experience managing consumer programs in multiple markets

  • Knowledge of relevant industry practice, legislation, trends and technological advancements.

  • Experience in energy, energy efficiency program management, industrial, commercial and/or residential building management field, understands energy profiles, and familiar with New York regulatory and environmental policy.

  • Knowledge of National Grid's business operations, company policies, and practices is helpful but not required.
