About The Position

The Emergency Response Coordinator conduct and coordinate Radiological Emergency Preparedness Plan (RERP) activities at Callaway Energy Center to ensure radiological safety of on-site and off-site personnel in the event of an emergency.

Key responsibilities include:

· Coordinate radiological activities with off-site agencies that support the RERP.

  • Assist in the preparation and review of drills and exercises.

  • Function as a controller at an Emergency Response Facility (ERF).

  • Compile critique results for the ERF.

  • Assist in the development or review of training programs for the RERP.

  • Assist in the development of RERP related procedures.

  • Assume Emergency Response Organization (ERO) duties in accordance with Callaway Energy Center Radiological Emergency Response Plan (RERP) including responding to assigned ERO facilities within the required RERP response time.


High School Diploma or equivalent required. Four or more years of nuclear plant experience OR Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or other technical field from an accredited college or university required. Two or more years of Emergency Preparedness experience preferred. Completion of an industry provided emergency response training course preferred.

In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:

Excellent leadership, decision-making, human relations and communication skills are required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office is required. Security screening required for Callaway Energy Center access.

Working Conditions

The Emergency Response Coordinator, Career Emergency Response Coordinator, Consulting Emergency Response Coordinator works a standard day shift in an office/plant environment. Working other shifts or Outage schedules may be required to support plant operations.
