If you are interested in kick starting your career in IT while gaining an inside look at the ways in which the department supports our company, we’d like to meet you!

We are seeking a self-directed, highly motivated and hard-working individual with an interest in a career focused in Information Technology for an Internship position. This position is open to any rising Junior or Senior in a college/university setting that is interested in gaining hands-on IT experience. This paid internship will run during the academic year (timeframe is flexible depending upon the college schedule) and will provide you with a unique insight into the Information Technology Department. The intern will actively contribute to meaningful projects, collaborate with IT team members, work closely with a mentor on the team and work with senior leadership to learn valuable skills.

The perfect candidate will have excellent customer service skills and a passion for technology, collaboration and creative problem solving. The candidate should expect to serve as a team player and work to generate new ideas for the department.

In this role you will:

  • Support the IT team in maintaining hardware, software, and other systems

  • Assist with troubleshooting issues and provide technical support

  • Organize and maintain IT resources

  • Lend IT support in areas such as programming, networking, end-user support, and data center management

Skills & Requirements

Job Qualifications – Here are a few skills you MUST have to be considered for this position:

  • Working towards a degree with a major in Computer Science, Information Technology or Management Information Systems.

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0

  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) proficiency

  • Strong communication skills and a passion for customer service.

  • Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

  • Knowledge of Java, .NET, JavaScript or HTML/DHTML and Microsoft Office Suite

  • Knowledge of computer networking concepts and protocols

  • Knowledge of communication methods, principles, and concepts that support the network infrastructure

  • Knowledge of how traffic flows across the network (e.g., Transmission Control Protocol [TCP] and Internet Protocol [IP] and Open System Interconnection Model [OSI]

  • Knowledge of concepts, terminology, and operations of a wide range of communications media (computer and telephone networks, fiber, wireless).

  • Knowledge of network tools (e.g., ping, traceroute, nslookup)

  • Knowledge of different types of network communication (e.g., LAN, WAN, MAN, WLAN, WWAN)

  • Ability to function in a hybrid environment working remote as well as in the office utilizing standard office equipment including but not limited to: PC, copier, telephone, etc.

  • Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs. (file boxes, computer, printer.)
