Spire is seeking an experienced, collaborative Product Manager. This position will focus on delivering business value within the department assigned. This role will be responsible for the definition of product needs, allocation of business value, and prioritization for iterative delivery through partnering with functional leaders and product owner/s. They will support the business and delivery teams by proactively engaging as the liaison between the business they represent and the product owner/s.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Define the product/solution vision in conjunction with functional business owners.

  • Define product/solution roadmaps based on features elicited with business representatives in partnership with ITS Product Owner.

  • Gathers, manages and prioritizes the product/solution roadmap, with a focus on delivering value through prioritization of features.

  • Actively manage the product/solution backlog through continuous refinement, providing the product owner and the development team with a clear vision of what needs to be delivered.

  • Direct the teams through PI Planning and Iteration Demos, providing feedback and acceptance criteria for features in the roadmap.

  • Work and collaborate with the organization at large and PMO to ensure that non-technology components are considered in the launching of the product/solution.

  • Responsible for the definition of program increments (PI) and releases.

  • Participate in product/solution demos, with a focus on ensuring that the delivery meets the needs and objectives of the product/solution.

  • Actively collaborates with the Product Owner in the definition of user stories and clarification of items, ensuring that the user stories are understood by the team and accurately reflect the product/solution purpose.

  • Researches, analyzes and assists in resolving daily system problems related to the supported financial systems.

  • Liaison between Finance and IT team which includes serving as the Finance representative on cross functional IT related projects.

Supervisory Responsibilities


Required Education (certifications, licenses)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Finance or related field required

  • Leading SAFe Certification required

  • SAFe or other agile framework Product Manager or Product Owner certification required

Required knowledge, skill and abilities

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Finance, IT, or related field

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a product development role using agile/scrum required

  • Experience in definition of products or solutions in the form of feature roadmaps

  • Product Management and/or Solution Architecture experience preferred

  • Knowledge of SAFe and Agile Methodology (Scrum, Kanban, XP)

  • Experience in the fundamentals of iterative and incremental development

  • Understanding of software development life cycles

  • Ability to work in an agile environment and comfort in dealing with ambiguity

  • Experience managing a backlog of features, as well as prioritization techniques

  • Strong communication, interpersonal and mentoring skills

  • Self-motivated to stay focused in the middle of distraction

  • Knowledge of Oracle Hyperion Suite (HFM, Hyperion Planning, PCM, HSF, Essbase, Oracle EBS, Treasury and PowerPlant)

Physical demands, environment and schedule

  • Work is normally performed in a shared, open-office environment

  • Requires some work during nonstandard business hours

  • Some travel required
