About The Position

The Contract Analyst is responsible for performing tasks to support Supply Chain (SC) contracts and processes. The Analyst will work with Supply Chain teams and internal departments on procurement activities by recommending and reviewing contract terms and templates, and the appropriate use of Certificates of Insurance based on procurement scope. The contract analyst helps avoid contractual disputes and mitigates supply chain risks. The analyst supports negotiations with suppliers on favorable terms and drafts contractual provisions and amendments. The Analyst will utilize SC systems and approved Ameren contract processes to develop and support contracts related to Supply Chain. The Analyst will have additional responsibilities to update templates, perform supplier management using the supplier portal, and answer questions on contract requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assist with all phases of the contracting process within Supply Chain for procurement activities.

  • Review and redline supplier contract terms and conditions for accuracy and compliance and recommend appropriate contract provisions.

  • Document Supply Chain contracting processes and maintain files.

  • Assist with training and socialization of approved contracting process and tools on behalf of Supply Chain throughout Ameren.

  • Provide assistance to internal stakeholders on questions regarding the contracting process and use of systems and tools related to Supply Chain contracts.

  • Create, modify, update, and maintain supplier contracts and databases, communicating changes to stakeholders, as needed.

  • Monitor and analyze contractual requirements for existing contracts (Certificates of Insurance, warranty, audit requirements, etc.).

  • Ensure that all documents within the Supply Chain contract packages are included, accurately disclosed, and adhere to Ameren’s internal policies and procedures.

  • Track and provide updates on the progress of contracts with suppliers.

  • Document correspondence and develop KPI's and other reports to measure and track contract review and response time within Supply Chain.

  • Assist Contract Specialists in contract negotiations, and in making updates of standard templates for terms and conditions.

  • Assist Accounts Payable by ensuring proper departments are charged, as per contract terms.

  • Assist Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) by providing data to support supplier performance around contract adherence.

  • Upload and analyze legacy contracts into contract management system.

  • Ad-hoc support of Contract Specialists and other job-related duties.

Qualifications

Associates Degree required or 60 credit hours towards a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university required, preferably in Engineering, Business, Law, Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain, Digital, or other related field.

One or more year of directly relevant work in contract administration, contract lifecycle management, document managements, or related experience preferred. Recent graduate may be considered.

Technical career path level and salary depends upon applicant’s credentials. Open to all levels.

In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Proficiency with SharePoint, Internet, Adobe Acrobat and all Microsoft Office applications preferred.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.

  • An understanding of commercial legal terms preferred.
