Join our team at Associated Electric Inc. as a Planning Engineer! As a key member of our Engineering & Operations Department, your expertise will be crucial in ensuring we maintain electrical reliability well into the future, while also ensuring compliance with transmission planning standards set by FERC, NERC, and SERC. In this role, you will be performing steady-state, short circuit, and stability studies, in addition to working with a team to accurately model the AECI transmission system.

What You’ll Be doing:

  • Conducts basic load flow and short circuit transmission system analyses

  • Maintains transmission database

  • Performs model development related to specific studies

  • Writes technical reports and operating procedures

  • Conducts steady-state, short circuit, and stability studies to ensure the reliability of the Bulk Electric System

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering

  • Basic understanding of Transmission Planning's processes, reliability standards, and electric grid operation

  • Basic understanding of substation design and protective relaying

  • Engineer in Training (EIT) desired, but not required

  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
