The Registered Nurse at Avista is responsible for providing patient care in the Avista First Care Clinic, within the practicing scope of a Registered Nurse. Beyond the patient care role, the Registered Nurse works to help manage and administrate Avista’s Occupational Health programs. This role requires collaboration with all departments across the company including but not limited to human Resources, operations teams, legal counsel, and the safety team. Practices in an independent role triaging phone calls, providing first aid, administering vaccines, and educating patients in the clinic/and all Avista locations as outlined by Nursing Services Manager. Works under the direction of the Nursing Services Manager.
AA degree or Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited college and a current RN license in the state of Washington required. Minimum of 2 years RN experience. Current Basic Life Support required. Certification in Occupational Health Nursing and/or Case Management (COHN, COHN-S, or board certified CM) preferred. Clinical Electronic Medical Records experience and proficiency required with the ability to maintain and accurately record EMR files. Must have current Microsoft Office experience. Required to have current high-level knowledge of the musculoskeletal system. Background in orthopedics a plus. Background in Workers Compensation, FMLA, and other state leave programs a plus. Experience/certification in occupational hearing conservation (CAOHC) a plus. Working knowledge of office equipment including document management software, medical software, word processing software, MS Office. Knowledge of medical terminology, current nursing principals, practices, and procedures. Knowledge of safety principals and infection control in a patient care environment. Strong leadership, interpersonal, organizational, and critical thinking skills. Strong customer service skills and ability to collaborate well with other staff required. Other combinations of education and/or experience maybe considered.
