Job Description

This role is a member of a team that is primarily responsible for the accounting and financial reporting of all project and fixed asset activity. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Set-up, monitor and close capital and operations and maintenance projects.

  • Research and provide capital and operations and maintenance determinations to internal customers. Prepare monthly closing journals and account reconciliations as assigned.

  • Maintain fixed asset records by processing retirements and unitizing plant assets.

  • Prepare analyses, schedules and reports required to support corporate objectives, management decision-making and compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Facilitate the monthly system closing processes utilizing Oracle E-Business Suite and/or PowerPlan and assist in resolving system issues as needed.

  • Respond to questions of internal customers, auditors and commission staff.

Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in accounting, and a minimum of 2-5 years of experience; CPA or MBA is preferred.

  • Broad knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and internal controls.

  • Knowledge of utility electric or gas operations, and utility, regulatory and/or cost accounting is preferred. Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication, analytical, organizational and computer skills as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

  • Other combinations of education/experience may be considered.
