About this Role

The Project Manager (PM) is responsible for the overall administrative, technical, financial, and resource management of the project from the initial bid preparation through project completion. The Project Manager is responsible for ensuring all stages of the project are completed in accordance with all safety and quality standards/requirements and meet project deadlines. The PM will oversee and lead partnerships through design, engineering, procurement, scheduling, construction, finance, and all other aspects of the project execution. The PM is responsible for oversight of all field operations and subcontract management.

The PM is one of the most critical roles in the successful completion of the project. Exceptional verbal, written, and communication skills are essential, as well as the ability and desire to work within a team. The PM cultivates relationships and pulls together all departments, subcontractors, and all necessary resources required to successfully move the project through to completion. The PM has strong abilities in verbal and written communication, listening skills, public speaking skills, provides engaging presentations/updates/visuals, practices patience, is adaptable, and has a strong ability to motivate a team. Fostering relationships with all people included in the project process, from start to finish, is essential for the Project Manager.

What You'll Do

  • Provide overall administrative, technical, financial, and resource management of the project from initial bid preparation through completion, under the guidance of the project management organization.

  • Responsible for delivering the project safely, in accordance with quality standards, on time, and within budget.

  • Critical for success in this position are excellent oral and verbal communication skills, the ability to work in teams, the ability to problem solve and a strong motivation to succeed.

  • Responsible for the project financials and contract management. Works closely with the Project Management Organization to ensure consistency and adherence to organizational best practices.

  • Works directly with the construction management team to ensure successful delivery of the project.

  • Maintain a professional appearance with the ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines and to provide positive leadership to motivate personnel.

  • Define problems, collect information, and establish facts to provide an appropriate resolution.

  • Lead pre-construction efforts in bid preparation, contract and exhibit review, and execution planning.

  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.

  • Setup, organize, update, and maintain electronic and printed files of project documents utilizing various systems, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, and SharePoint; Primavera P6; JD Edwards; B2W; and others.

  • Schedule and manage subcontractors, vendors, and material suppliers.

  • Monitor and support construction through communication to ensure the project is built on schedule and within budget

  • Work with legal team to oversee contracts to protect company’s interest while maintaining good relationships.

  • Review cost reports and evaluate methods to reduce cost while maintaining productivity.

  • Manage budget projection for labor, material, equipment, and subcontractors procured on the project.

  • Responsible for providing project cost forecasting, monthly cost to complete development, and accuracy of reporting.

  • Responsible for the invoicing or payment application process as well as monitoring the quality of weekly labor and equipment hours, material, and subcontractor reporting.

  • Responsible for productivity, efficient use of materials/equipment, and contractual performance of the project.

  • Lead daily, weekly, and monthly meetings, including monthly project reviews, as required, including the formulation of the agenda and minutes. Generate daily, weekly, or monthly meeting documents as required.

  • Develop, submit, track, and maintain all project submittals and requests for information.

  • Monitor and manage project scope and develop, negotiate, submit, track, and maintain client and/or subcontractor change orders when necessary.

  • Develop and maintain project schedules in MS Project or Primavera.

What You'll Bring

  • Four-year construction science, construction management, construction engineering, engineering, or similar related degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience

  • Minimum of five years project or construction management, estimating, or project controls experience in similar construction

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio, SharePoint).

  • Familiar with or ready to learn corporate systems with preference given to Primavera P6, JD Edwards, QuickBase, and B2W technology platforms.

  • Must have a valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle driving record (MVR).

  • Ability to travel and work on project location, as required.

  • Strong ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical specifications, drawings, financial reports, and legal documents.

  • Thorough knowledge of all aspects of project management, project controls, contract management, budgeting, estimating, schedules, negotiations, construction management (technology, equipment, methods), and safety required.

  • Detailed knowledge of project management, estimating, construction, finance, and management

  • Ability to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize team performance.

  • Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards, and activities.

  • Ability to apply accounting revenue recognition concepts and operations as needed to examine construction operations.

  • Effective communication (oral, written, presentation, listening) and ability to lead meetings.

  • Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks.

Compensation Range

The anticipated compensation for this position is USD $80,000.00/Yr. - USD $120,000.00/Yr. depending on experience and qualifications.
