POSITION:One (1) – Planner Trainee


LOCATION: Somerville, MA



**Union Represented Position**


-Responsible, under general direction of supervision, for updating and maintaining the GIS System for Gas Distribution.

-Update GIS system, graphical data and land base from as-builts or received drawings as required.

-Place Activity Reports pins within GIS.

-Utilize the TelDig software system to conduct the Dig Safe pre-screening process for tickets requiring review after auto screening.

-Prepare necessary documents and associates drawing for filing state openings permits and record keeping (Southborough and Worcester only).

-Prepare necessary documents and associated company records for demolitions.

-Prepare necessary documents and associated drawings for Grant Plans according to city/town and Eversource Gas procedures.

-Respond to requests for outside look-ups.

-Assist Gas Distribution through office work as assigned.

-Maybe be assigned as 'back-up' in the event of an absence of any Gas Operations Clerk, with the exception of payroll.

-May be assigned to assist Distribution employees on field visits.


1. Be physically fit.

2. Possess a valid Massachusetts Driver’s License.

3. Associates Degree in Computer Aided Design Technology (CAD) or the equivalent certificate from a technical school of collegiate grade; or the equivalent combination of education and experience which includes two (2) years of Auto Cad/GIS experience.
