About Transmission and Distribution :

Southern California Edison’s (SCE's) Transmission and Distribution Organizational Unit (T & D) is responsible for planning, engineering, constructing, operating, and maintaining transmission and distribution facilities throughout the 50,000-square-mile territory. T&D is the steward of roughly $19 billion in assets that safely and reliably deliver electricity to 14 million residents via SCE’s 4.9 million customer accounts.

Position Overview :

The Process Oversight manager oversees a team of professionals responsible for monitoring processes within Distribution Planning to ensure issues related to potential non-compliance to tariffs, rules, process or procedures are identified and appropriately mitigated. Responsibilities include the identification of potential process risks, the selection of sample work orders for detailed analysis, publication of findings to executive leadership, and the development and implementation of mitigation plans. The Process Oversight manager leads the development of preventative measures and detective reporting to reduce overall process risk.

The Process Oversight manager is responsible to make sure effective process controls are in place within the organization and oversees the management of any corrective actions. This individual is responsible for maintaining accurate documentation of Authorization Approval Matrix (AAM), Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) requirements and compliance reporting for Distribution Planning. The manager is accountable to work with Audits in order to support ASD reviews of planning processes, and to prepare and manage action plans for any subsequent findings.

The Process Oversight manager will manage a team responsible for responding to CPUC requests, handling and resolving CPUC complaints, managing Fringe Account, managing WDAT, municipalization and condemnation projects, resolving issues related to franchise and easement rights, and resolving other complaints from local agencies that are related to Distribution Planning.

Typical Responsibilities:

  • Act as Quality Assurance, CPUC/Agency Planning Liaison, and Compliance Lead for Distribution Planning as described above.

  • Lead and direct supervise organization of approximately 15 employees. The selected candidate will be responsible for selecting staff and managing employee performance and development by conducting performance planning and reviews, coaching employees, and carrying out disciplinary action when necessary;

  • Cover for the Design Support Principal Manager in his/her absence; and other duties as directed.

  • Provide functional direction to multiple organizations that total over 1000 employees

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Five or more years managing/supervising a diverse organization.

  • Experience with distribution planning, permitting and CPUC tariff and rules.

  • Experience with developing business plans

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Business or technical discipline

  • Five or more years of experience in Project Management

  • Certificate in Project Management
