Department Overview

The mission of Electric Business Operations (EBO) is to advance the Electric Operations business with a strategic, executable, and affordable work plan. Within EBO, the Work Planning & Readiness Reporting team works with an array of cross-functional stakeholders including business finance, major projects and programs, transmission and distribution operations.

Our goal is to ensure the following:

  • Adherence to the Circuit Based Work Plan

  • Leadership’s involvement in the resourcing, work readiness and planning processes

  • Work is ready to execute in a timely and efficient fashion

  • Internal & External resource allocations being optimized

  • Transparency of changes to our electric book of work for current and future years are aligned with PG&E’s and the customers’ interests

  • Electric portfolio of work is aligned with approved budgets

  • The advancement of more efficient reporting and automation, as applicable

We achieve these objectives through the following departmental functions:

  • Work Planning & Readiness Reporting

  • Systems & Reporting Automation

  • Portfolio Change Control

  • Macro-Level Resource Balancing & Workforce Strategy

Position Summary

Responsible for work progression reporting and analysis for management reviews and decision making. This person will work closely with the Electric Transmission Lines of Business (LOB), Electric Distribution, Major Projects and Programs, Business Finance, Electric Business Operations, and other external parties, as identified, to gather data, conduct data analysis, develop the work plan review presentation, socialize key messages in the review documents with management and other stakeholders, facilitate the work plan review meetings as well as drive follow up actions. Our team acts as the primary hub for communication of data and work-execution strategy throughout Electric. To be successful on this role we are looking for individuals with a passion for data integrity, accuracy, and have the ability to organize stakeholders; in order to improve the processes which, gather data inputs and how to report associated metrics.

Job Responsibilities

  • Possesses unique and strong subject matter expertise in work progression reporting and analysis for electric utility operations and/or other related businesses.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills for various audiences and levels of leadership.

  • Solves unique and complex problems, anticipating issues and developing innovative solutions to meet the need of the job responsibilities and deliverables.

  • Skilled at utilizing large amounts of data to develop charts, graphs, and presentations to support strategic discussion and decision making with an Executive level team.

  • Technical skills using systems and applications such as SAP Analysis for Office (AO), Excel, and PowerPoint to develop reports, analyses and deliver presentations.

  • Ability to drive a large, matrixed, cross-functional team to achieve a set of stated goals, and to facilitate efficient and effective work progression meetings, discussions, decisions and actions.

  • May provide direction, training and coaching to other analysts.

  • Works with and leverages relationships with Directors and Managers across functions.

  • Clearly and consistently communicate expectations on deliverables.

  • Maintain our OneDrive Team SharePoint

  • Lead a weekly call with all stakeholders to provide guidance and a forum for discussions on the activities surrounding the governance forums, to ensure that they are executed & delivered on time.



  • BS in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering or related discipline or equivalent work experience required.

  • 6 years job-related experience


  • MBA or Graduate degree or equivalent

  • Extensive knowledge of different analytical methods, approaches and tactics

  • Familiarity with

  • Broad expertise in what-if modeling analysis, concepts, methods and techniques and analysis of how different factors affect business outcomes

  • Creative problem-solving skills to develop prototype solutions

  • Strong analytical and writing skills to create compelling business cases based on complex business environments and inputs

  • Influence skills to effectively gain buy in from leaders inside and outside of the department

  • Knowledge and understanding of key drivers affecting business results

  • Project management skills to lead large and complex projects working with cross-functional teams

  • Organizational, prioritization and multi-tasking skills

  • Adaptable to changing business conditions and ambiguity

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, Project, Visio or similar software
