In this role you would directly impact our goal of expanding our Distributed Energy business to Utilities, Munis, Coops, and C&I customers. This team is responsible for complex solution sales, product development and opening up new markets & verticals. Today, we primarily focus on solar + storage, but our mandate is to continuously evaluate new technologies and new business models for growth. Think of us as a start-up inside an established, well-capitalized, market leader. You have to be able to think like an entrepreneur, blaze new trails and close the first deals for new products or markets.
In this role, you will be responsible for developing opportunities with Munis and Coops nationally and expanding our microgrid efforts. The opportunities and products you create will be supported by our origination, valuation, and development teams who are responsible for pushing projects through the organization.
Successful candidates will be active listeners and excellent communicators who can understand their audience, ask great questions and distill complex and new information into a compelling value proposition. You will need to be able to work independently, proactively, and resourcefully to prospect, identify, and qualify relevant customer opportunities and successfully negotiate deals. You should have the industry experience to have credibility with stakeholders and be able to evaluate how new offerings fit within the regulatory environment and traditional energy industry business models.
Candidates with previous experience selling to Munis and Coops are preferred. Candidates with microgrid experience, and experience with DG-sized natural gas or diesel generators, CHPs, fuel cells, storage, or backup power, are highly preferred.
Employees in this role assist in the development and execution of plans for new and enhanced generation projects. This job coordinates allocation of resources, schedules, and technical adequacy, ensuring the project or transaction is completed in the most cost effective and competitive manner. This position participates in all aspects of the business deal and ensures the project is completed on time and within budgetary constraints. Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Leads and facilitates the day to day transaction process to ensure timely completion as well as a cost effective and competitive result
- Coordinates key functions such as financial feasibility analyses, engineering/design, project legal review, permitting activities and financial negotiations
- Supports due diligence activities with other internal groups to ensure proper analysis and structuring of assigned projects
- Acts as liaison between internal and external specialists regarding procurement, contracting, permitting and interconnection
- Assists in the construction of contractual arrangements for project development
- Participates in negotiating agreements with consultants and subcontractors
- Ensures compliance with applicable technical and regulatory requirements
- Fosters external relationships with customers, third parties and members of the community
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned

- Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience
