Job Summary

Plans the daily and weekly work schedules of construction crews with the contractor foremen. Inspects the installation and maintenance of pipelines and related facilities in order to ensure that the required codes, standards and specifications are met. Performs maintenance on pipelines and pipeline facilities. Maintains records of activities on the pipelines, including maintenance reports, corrosion reports, requisitions, orders, completions, field notes, daily reports and logs. Responsible for monitoring contractors Operator Qualification status and ensuring contract workers are following the operator qualification rules. Responds to construction calls from outside parties to ensure no damage is done to company pipelines or facilities. Ensures pipeline operations meet required codes and standards. Oversees welding repairs of defective welds during construction of gas pipelines, metering, compression and regulation facilities, transportation and work equipment. Works with internal and external customers to ensure safety, minimize disruptions and assist in resolving problems. Conducts training and safety sessions for Company personnel. Anticipates and identifies problems and works with team members to develop solutions. May be required to operate and perform basic maintenance on vacuum truck.

Majority of work will require individual to travel along the Wasatch Front, however at certain times travel beyond Wasatch Front is required until the project is complete and completion can take from months to a couple of years. - Will require individual to work prolonged hours including overtime.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Two years' experience as a Senior Utilityworker or equivalent experience in a related field.Knowledge of welding, tapping, locating and other construction equipment.

Knowledge of pipe diameters, thickness and grades in relation to one another.

Knowledge of steel pipeline construction and construction of related facilities (e.g. end facilities and regulator stations).

Knowledge of federal, state, municipal and company codes, standards and specifications relating to pipelines and related facilities.

Knowledge of company safety policies and procedures.

Basic math skills.

Skill in the use of inspection and construction equipment.

Ability to smell and detect burning materials, natural gas, hazardous substances such as ammonia and solvents and toxic substances found in hazardous wastes.

Ability to hear approaching equipment on construction site.

Ability to read and interpret design drawings, contracts and permits. Good verbal and oral communication skills.
