Summary

Spire is seeking a System Analyst to work in the St Louis location. This position will be responsible for working with a team of automation experts to support technical and business driven automation needs in support of the Spire team.

Duties and Responsibilities

Thorough knowledge of business processes in assigned area of responsibility

Advanced interpersonal skills, demonstrating an ability to lead a project

Advanced ability to translate business needs and problems into systems’ design and technical solutions.

Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technology features as needed to support business goals

Follow ITS change management and stage gate procedures

Should possess organizational and analytical skills

Gain full understanding of the architecture infrastructure of assign applications.

Update and maintain internal software documentation.

Provide user security reports for audit.

Troubleshoot assigned application related issues.

Reading technical manuals, confers with users, conduct system diagnostics, and provide technical assistance.

Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

Regularly review and evaluate the current policies and procedures looking for areas of improvement in efficiency or effectiveness of efforts.

Review the system impact of additions to the daily automation runs due to new or changed applications

Ability to adapt in a fast-moving and changing culture

All other duties as assigned

Essential Characteristics and Competencies

Supervisory Responsibilities

N/A

Required Education (certifications, licenses)

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or comparable work experience

Required knowledge, skill and abilities

3+ years of experience IT related experience

2+ years of working with automated schedulers

2+ years of project related experience

Expert knowledge of structured and object-oriented programming, relational database design, operating systems, networking concepts, and systems integration.

Advanced ability to translate business needs and problems into systems’ design and technical solutions.

Knowledge of Automic (aka, UC4) Enterprise Job Scheduler or any scheduling tool

Practical work experience in managing and maintaining systems in a multi-utilization instance environment

Previous work experience in integrating various applications/systems

Experience in creating and executing API’s

Experience with Postgres Database and usage

Previous work experience in the use of a project management system

Previous work experience in the use of an incident system

Working experience with relational and hierarchical databases.

Experience working with PL/SQL and SQL

Experience with Enterprise Database

Experience (Java, Perl, Python, Ruby, etc.)

Experience with Linux and Windows Operation Systems

Experience with versioning software is preferred

Willing to learn new skills and modules

Physical demands, environment and schedule

Normal Work Environment - Work is normally performed in a shared office environment-make changes to this depending upon the position requirements.

Typically, 8 hours a day, Monday through Friday. Overtime and travel may be required.
