Purpose

This position requires a thorough understanding of the company’s business operations as well as a broad knowledge of available SAP and related partner technologies to:

oWork with IT Leadership on the SAP Strategic roadmap, environment strategy, investment, project execution, vendor management, solution architecture and successful launch of new solutions and related applications.

oAssist all SAP projects and applications leaders with SAP architecture, enhancement, maintenance, support and SAP functional and technical implementation expertise.

oWork closely with the business and IT leaders to ensure value is delivered from IT investments and compliance with industry standards and best practices.

oProvide technological and strategic guidance and leadership in the development of both internal and external software projects as well as infrastructure.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities

oDevelop SAP Strategic roadmap and environment strategies.

oMaintain portfolio of all SAP modules, interfaces, and 3rd party integration applications

oOptimize licensing of SAP modules

oDevelop short and long term road-map for business solutions as it relates to SAP and SAP application integrations

oFacilitate Business process improvement efforts as it relates to SAP best practices

oDevelop plans for all SAP system upgrades

oDevelop and maintain system architecture

oWork with business units in the analysis and selection of any SAP module or related application

oManage the budget as it relates to SAP software and licensing expenditures

oAdvise senior management on all SAP-related issues including opportunities to drive greater value realization of SAP technology and software

oDevelop and maintain an SAP training program

oCommunicate effectively and appropriately with both technical and non-technical audiences. Ensure transparency and well-planned communication.

oLead members of the SAP team to implement and support sustainable solutions in the SAP environment. Provide mentorship, coaching and guidance in the SAP Architectural strategy.

oImplement a customer service center for SAP-related functions.

oProvide coaching and guidance to the SAP Project Managers and Delivery teams about the strategic vision of the SAP architecture, and strategic roadmap of SAP applications.

Ability to Perform

Integration Architecture – Ensure the SAP Application landscape is designed and architected to ensure cost effective, scalable, and best in class solution delivery to all users.

Manage SAP -related contractual agreements and relationships to assure full value from a delivery and cost perspective. Ensure effective relationships amongst vendor staff with business end users and other service providers.

Continuous Improvement/Cost Out – Ensure constant improvement of operations processes. Creates and maintains focus on measurement and constant improvement of all core support processes. Identifies and leads initiatives to drive cost out of operation.

People Excellence – Stays informed and actively involved in the new solutions in SAP and IT related applications and help other SAP team members to stay up to date in the new applications and solutions.

SAP User Groups and Community Networks – Participate in events, chapter meetings, training and presentations, and promote the participation of others to help improve the usage of existing SAP applications and proper identification of opportunities for upgrades, enhancements or implementation of new solutions and technology.

COE and Super User Organization – Collaborate with the Business Units on the planning organization and instatement of COE (Center of Expertise) and/or Super Users Organizations to promote users training on best business practices, SAP Global model templates and Users processes and procedures for a better usage and maintenance of the resources.

Minimum Qualifications

Academic Requirements:

oBachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field

oMaster’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, is a plus

oMinimum 10 years of SAP work experience

Competencies:

oAbility to establish strong partnerships across IT and the Business; act as a trusted advisor to influence both technology and business leadership

oAbility to effectively work in a team where other team members may be located remotely

oSelf-starter with the ability to independently resolve issues and deliver results

oExcellent written and verbal communication skills

Essential Technical (SAP) skills:

oMore than 10 years of experience with SAP functionality in multiple Modules

oExperience in an IT management role leading teams, project management and integrating systems with SAP-ERP systems

oProven experience in implementing and supporting SAP ERP environment

oExperienced with SAP Netweaver component integration APO, BW, CRM.

oExperience with latest SAP technologies such as HANA, cloud solutions and mobile applications.

oExperience working in projects with design and development teams

oAbility to work with multiple SAP environments

oProven experience in solution architecture

oProven experience in application integration

oExperience in design and development of mobile applications a plus

Essential Analytical Skills:

oCandidates must have the ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently

oMust possess a disciplined approach and commitment to delivering on Service Level Agreements (SLA’s)

oStrong analytical approach to problem solving and solution development

oExperience working with a very formal change control process

oAbility to review functional and technical specifications and make recommendations for improvement prior to development

oWillingness to adhere to a standard, global template and maintain the consistency of the global process model.

Desired Experience

oPreferred experience in the following SAP ECC 6.0 ENP 7 including FI/CO/TR/SD/QM/PM/HR/IS-U, SAP CRM 7.0 EHP3, SAP BW 7.5 on HANA, Business Objects, SuccessFactors, Arriba etc) , SAP cloud computing and the enablement of greater mobility, integration with technologies that support utility programs and operations e.g. MDMS, OMS, GIS & IVR

oProviding enterprise wide guidance on what applications can address current and future business challenges in utility programs and operations
